onshore defacto visa processing times

my partner and I lodged a onshore defacto visa last February 2012, in Sydney. He is Canadian and I am Australian and we are still waiting. We were initially told it would be 9 months, then 13 months, when we rang at 13 months they said 14 months and at 14 months they said 15 months. Everything is submitted and there is nothing more they need. We dont even have a case worker?

is this the case for anyone else?

thanks so much, we really appreciate any help.

Exactly the same as you two, including lodgement in Feb 2012. No case officer and got told 15 months at last communication.

Seems to be a standard wait time, DIAC are going as fast as they can. Don't worry, not a whole lot more time left to wait.

You're not alone guys.

Hey Guys,

We are in the same boat. Low risk country and we sent in a completed application in March 2012. We got told 15 months and still haven't been assigned a case officer. Its frustrating because I have a mate with nearly the same application who applied in December 2012 and got it in a month! Was stoked for her but I've got no idea how they justify making people wait 13 months for no reason. We haven't heard anything yet. Fingers crossed!

Hi,

Yes unfortunately the current estimated waiting time for onshore partner visas is around 15 months. I believe this was announced January or February this year, unfortunately. It is an average thing and although usually on average low-risk countries are done faster than high-riskers, there is no guarantee.

How much have you contacted them over the past year?
