Getting a tourist visa while waiting for a PMV!?

Hi all! I've applied for a PMV in february, but the last time I saw my fiancÚ was in august, it took us forever to gather the documents we needed to lodge in the application and I feel as if I were slowly dying without seeing him for so long. The thing is that if I'm lucky I could be granted the visa in july, but if I'm not, I couldn't live without seeing him for more than a year... either way if this happens, he's planning on coming in july or august, and then I was thinking that after he leaves, if I haven't been granted the visa, I could go to Australia and wait for the outcome over there. I know that I would have to leave Australia once my visa's granted... or before? I'm not sure, so these are my questions:
- I already had a tourist visa but it expired in may, so, to get a new one, would I just have to say that I want to renew it, or would I have to get a whole new one?
- For how long must you remain out of Australia before entering again, once the PMV visa is granted?
- Would I have to let my case officer know about me going over there?
- Would it make me suspicious for wanting a tourist visa if I'm already applying for a PMV and this affect the results of both visas??

Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Hello marla
your first question; For how long must you remain out of Australia before entering again, once the PMV visa is granted? You can enter immediately as long as the visa has being granted whilst your off shore there is no problem, by the time they inform you its already in the system of immigration.
second question; Would I have to let my case officer know about me going over there?
you may want to check this out its on the forum a discussion on your question, here is the link; http://www.australiaforum.com/visas-...processed.html There seems to be a way to do this but there is an awful lot of expense involved. The link above will answer all your questions especially 2 and 3.
Good luck and please keep us informed.

Oh, I see, thank you very much! So it doesn't really matter that I've had a tourist visa before, I would still have to get a new one... It sounds tricky... I wouldn't like to jeopardize the PMV. I guess I'll just see how my patience goes, otherwise I'm going to have to do it.

Thanks again and I'll keep you posted
