Confusion over Medical Check - Partner 309 Visa

Hi all,

I submitted my 309 / 100 partner visa application online back in May 2016. Shortly after in June I received an email informing me that a case officer had been assigned. 6 months later and I haven't heard anything further.

I logged into my application area yesterday to upload a document, and noticed the "View Health Assessment" link, which took me to a page where it says the Health Examination is required, and a link to a section that shows my HAP ID and an option to Print a Referral Letter.

Now, in all the supporting documentation and advisory information I've read it says to wait until the CO asks for you to do the health check. However this is in contradiction to this section in my online application area where it gives me the option to go ahead and arrange the checks now anyway.

I'm confused - is this normal? Should I just go ahead and arrange it myself now, or wait for the CO to request it? Do you think the lack of any updates in 6 months is because they're just waiting for me to get the health check done?

I'm applying from the UK if that helps.

Any advice appreciated!

Seems UK has been getting longer to process, I think one went over 12 months recently.

The Health Check and Police Checks are valid for 12 months only. After 6 months you could arrange your Health Check - just keep in mind your must arrive before date is linked to the expiry of these 2 documents.

Or you could wait until requested.
