PMV waiting time email from the department?

Hi everyone,

My partner and I are currently waiting for our online PMV application result from the high commission in Dehli, India. We are now almost at the 12 month mark.

Yesterday, my partner received an email from the department acknowledging that only 75% of cases get results within 11 months and 90% in 12 months.

However, this part of the email scared us "Applications that take longer to be processed are generally those that have been lodged with incomplete information, the applicant or their dependant has medical issues that need to be resolved, or the case is complex."

Neither of us have medical issues, children or dependents, or criminal records. We have also filled as much of checklist as possible and apart from the medical and PCC, we have not been asked for any further information.

We are very confused here. The waiting is nerve wracking enough as it is and now this. Is this just like a disclaimer they put to cover all their bases?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sarah.

Hi there!

Can you tell me how the dept sent that email to your partner? Is this a reply to an email which your partner sent? In the affirmative, what did your partner write to them?

It seems mine too will be long given that my PMV application, applied on 30 Sept 16, is complicated. I hope yours will be granted ASAP though.

Cheers...

Selwyn, they sent the email to my partner sort of like an "ackonewledgement" that our visa hasn't had a result yet and it was like an automated email with all the links, disclaimers etc on it. My partner replied with a general "thank you for letting us know, do you have an idea how much longer it will be?" And he was replied with another automated response again with all the links and disclaimers on it.

Mish, it really does feel like they are playing games with people doesn't it?

If some information wasn't complete or they needed more documentation they would ask for it wouldn't they?

We have been going through the checklist trying to find anything we have missed but quite a few things on it (military service, children, dependents etc) don't apply to us.

Then I would have felt exactly like you. lol Maybe more frustrated! :/ Jeez, I don't know what would be the outcome for mine but I seriously hope we all are successful....within a reasonable time!! It's definitely worst staying apart for so long... Crossing fingers for you... Keep us updated...

They say that the onus is on you to provide the evidence and if they need more they are not required to ask. However, I have seen alot of case officers ask if they need more.

I'll be honest ... the PMV was the worst out of all the visa's because we were apart. My husband is currently waiting for his 801 and they say it will take 12 to 18 months. It doesn't bother me because we are together :). Just remember ... the PMV is the worst, after the PMV you will be together and that is what matters.

Hi my fiancé and I are in the same boat as you Sarah. We have been waiting for about 10 months and 2 weeks. We have emailed the department and they have given generic response. They are how ever inundated with many applications because he is from Lebanon. The most frustrating thing is others have been granted a visa from the same country as him. Many have also broken visa laws and yet still been granted visas. I just hope we don't wait more then we should. Our wedding plans have been on hold for the moment.
Good luck to all.

Thank you both

It's very hard being apart from someone you love so much :( but I suppose to the government, we are just names on a piece of paper.

That makes me so angry People who cheat and have no sincerity getting through while honest people have to wait and suffer

I wish you all the best of luck and you're all in my prayers

hi guys, me and my fiancé applied for the pmv subclass 300 visa application last year in Malaysia august 2016 . he was called in to the immigration department to have an interview, from the interview everything went well and now were still waiting , he's done his police check and medical check at the beginning when we applied for it, looks like its taking a while as we have been waiting over 11 months and have been together for over a year. any tips and suggestions on what is happening and what to do would be very appreciated. and what is the normal processing time for visa like this .thankyou
