Police Certificate questions ..

I have questions! I'm in Qld and I need the police check from the usa. I know I need to send my fingerprints to the FBI, but where do I get them done? Any local police station or do I have to go to the AFP? Do I need an appointment? How much is it? Should I take form fd258 with me or will they provide their own form? Should I expect the fingerprints back or do they send them for me? What do I need to take with me to get them done? I hear mixed answers around and I need clarification! Thanks in advance~

Please update your flag here .

You should contact the US embassy in Canberra or the US consulate in Sydney to get the quickest and most accurate answer to that question.

I had a client who had issues with this as there were different ways of obtaining certificates from the different States. He had to get a check from Wyoming and had to contact the sheriff's office directly to get this done. And in the end a "Certificate of Good Standing" was issued and deemed to be fine.
