Question Adding Dependent to my Visa

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and founds it very useful after reading different question posted here.

My questions are
1) whether can i add my family member to my visa before initial entry to Australia, i have PR visa.(Skilled independent) but i have not made my initial entry to Australia till now?
2) If yes then how much time will be needed to process my family member visa.

The normal thing with family members would be to have them listed as secondary applicants and I think that there is even provision for secondary applicants to be added after the visa has been applied for but having already had the visa granted and now thinking about your family is somewhat amazing!

Anyway, with the horses already past the post in respect to your visa, I suspect that there will now need to be a separate visa application and you'll need to get all the relevant documents together, translated and copies certified etc. just as you had to for a skilled visa and that could be the greatest consumption of time.

You could look at the relevant information for secondary applicants, follow the links and see if there is provision for adding to an already granted visa, documentaion still required, but I'd think you might as well email immi and the response could be as I said, independent visa.
Based on some responses re family stream visas, anything under six months from starting from scratch and you'll be doing well.
