Tourist/visitor visa while waiting PMV

Hi all,

I know there is always a chance of a tourist/visitor visa not being approved while waiting for a PMV decision, but I was wondering if it necessary to have sufficient funds in your bank?

Would it increase the chances of getting it approved if we did, and how much would be enough for a possible 6 month visa?

Thanks

The onus is on the applicant to provide evidence that they have access to sufficient funds to support themselves during their stay. There is no fixed amount, but if food and accommodation were provided, something like $ 300.00 and $ 400.00 a week would seem a reasonable amount , depending on itinerary and intended activities.

Would it be an issue if the funds are in our joint account? We use our joint account as a savings account.

I have another personal account that my pay goes into which I use for everyday expenses.

My fiancè's pay from his work goes onto a reloadable prepaid card, he doesn't have a bank account.

We did the Visitor visa while waiting for PMV and only had the one bank account. And that wasn't a problem.
