What I did was putting all the documents in order on the documents checklist because I assumed CO would have the checklist to follow when processing my visa application. So if the application is well organised and the CO can easily find what they're looking at, their job will get done faster. I've never heard someone got refused for a disorganised application but if you make it easy for CO, it is helpful for you. Make sure you have all documents and forms they ask for.

I did get responded after 2 weeks while it was meant to be up to 8 months. Although I haven't been granted the visa because I got one incorrect form but my CO told me as soon as she gets the correct form she can grant me the visa.

Hi Carter, just so you know its relativly normal to hear back within two weeks. Immigration will carry out a preassessment to see if your application is valid so they can formally accept it. An incorrect form makes it invalid so they cant accept and start processing until you submit the correct form.

Fingers crossed its still a fast turn around but you may still be looking at 8 months. Keep us posted.

My partner hasn't heard a single thing from Immigration
They received the application via post on 16th May, took payment on 22nd May and granted the visa on 29th May - yet we still haven't heard a peep out of them, not even an acknowledgement letter! The only reason we know it's been granted is because of VEVO... she's even registered for Medicare already.

Surely they'll send her a letter soon

We didn't get away with it that easily, still had to wait 6.5 months for the Subclass 300
Since you are applying for a 309 hopefully you'll get it approved in 5-8 months. No idea what the current wait is for those but good luck!

I applied for onshore partner visa 820/801. I'm in Perth and what I did was drop the application in the box at the DIAC office. I've been waiting for the Vietnamese Police Check from home...
