Sorry I shouldnt have sounded so certain, it happened to me before but not with student visa. I think what Panda said makes a lot of sense. Please do ring DIAC to find out. Thank to Panda I've learnt my lesson; I need to be very careful of what I say in the future, I definitely don't want to ruin anyone's life.
All the best!

Hi guys,

All good, I spoke to DIAC and they advised me that when they granted our Temp Partner visa (820) they cancelled the student visa at the same time (which we are happy with).

We will double check the Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) system as well just to make sure.

I must add that DIAC and our Case Officer have been excellent to deal with.

As others have said, best to check with DIAC on these things as everyones circumstances are different.

Thanks for everyones assistance.

Regards Mark
