Received Temporary Partner Visa (820) do I cancel Student Visa ?

Hi Everyone,

My partner receieved our Temporary Partner Visa (Sub Class 820) however we are unsure if she has to submit something to cancel her student visa as she is pregnant and wont be able to study shortly.

Does the Temporary Partner Visa override the student visa ?

Any Ideas?

Thank you as always for your help

Regards

Mark

Hi Mark,

Once the partner visa is granted, any current visa will automatically cease. You don't need to do anything to cancel it. Congrats!

No, as far as I know, your student visa still in use, and your TR only comes to valid until your student visa expired. It is student visa, not bridging.

You still have to full fill all the requirement in your student visa

and NO, you should not cancel any visa, I have read some topic in here once you cancel your student visa, you will be required to attend DIAC to explain or something like re active you TR.

I'm not a registered as an agent, you should check with your MARA or call DIAC. Cancel any visa is something you should not do.

Richo, I would think that when you are granted TR the student visa would be voided automatically but I'm not certain. I suggest you ring the DIAC to confirm one way or the other and when you do please let us know the answer so we can advise others correctly in the future. Thanks!

What Whitney said. I don't believe Panda to be correct on this one. Definitely check with DIAC though and let us know!

as far as i know if you on a student visa n you have launched your 820 you wil remain on that visa until it runs out and then if your 820 is still not out you go on the bridging. so whilst on the student visa you still have to abide by those same conditions
