Hey Ozzy, just a quick note, you don't need to submit the police certificate from ACRO with your application, you can always wait until its requested or alternativly once you have been assigned a CO (in the UK it seems its only taking 2weeks to get a CO atm) you can submit when you have contact details for them.

In regards to getting stuff sent to Oz quickly, I know its an extra expense but i'd reccommend using UPS document service. I got some docs sent to my husband in London from Yeppoon, QLD in 4 days. I feel your pain, i'm so glad I had the help of a migration agent. I still had to organise everything but he helped collaborate it and I too would have needed a couple of week days off to get it all done.

No we are applying offshore. And what i mean about the police check is that theres a question asking do u have a criminal record and then says give details. My bf cant even remember whats on it as it was all prior to 2006/2007 so i need to send off for a request of personal data which lists his convictions (no jail time though its all fines i think) and so i need to wait for that so i can write it on the form

Oh I get it, we had to do that too, its the subject access request isn't it. From memory ours didn't take 40 days. We requested ours about this time last year and it took about 3 weeks from what I can remember. Fingers crossed you don't have to wait too long.

Stupid english boys and their lack of memories ;-)

Hi all,

I've been lurking here for about a month and a half - thanks for all the great information!

I'm applying offshore for a PMV. I was in Australia in April and my fiance and I filled out forms that I printed in April 2013. I've been waiting for my FBI results and we were holding off sending in our application until they arrived.

Just called the Americas Service Centre phone number (613) 216-7603 to ask if I should send my application in now and the answer was yes. The fellow I spoke with said that as long as they receive it before 1 July then it will be considered in the processing stage and the forms we printed out in April will be valid.

If they receive the application after 1 July with the forms I printed in April, it would not be sufficient for review.

I hope this information helps.

This is disheartening, I only just posted all our documents to my fiancee today then only to come home and read not a few hours later that the forms are going to change. I think everyone can sympathise with me about how difficult it is to gather all information, evidence, stat decs etc not to mention the cost of the application and time taken to do all of this. I do not understand, if they can accept the current forms and have processed these applications now, surely they can accept forms that were completed recently. Is there no leeway for this?

I don't believe there is, no. Applicants who have previously applied with just-expired forms with mandatory changes to them have been contacted by Immigration and made to re-do the forms. So... better to just use the right ones up front. They revise the forms on a regular schedule... that's why we have the thread about form changes as a sticky at the top of this forum. Any chance you and your fiancee will have applied by July 1?

CollegeGirl,
Can we get the new forms now? Or do they only release them on July 1st?

I'm planning on applying around July 21st and I have some Aussies sending stat decs, but this complicates things.

Please let me know if you get a chance, I can't find it.
