475 WHV Work Restrictions - Help!!

Hello

Ok so I have been working for my company for 5 months. I am applying for the 820 and I have 6 months left of my 2nd yr WHV.

I have applied to lift the 6 month WHV restrictions from the current visa, still not heard anything. Sent it in about 2 weeks ago now,

However, was talking to a friend who like myself done his 2 years WHV before him and his partner applied for the 820 (He just got his citizenship, lucky old thing!)

So anyway, he was saying that back when he was on his WHV - so about 3-4 years ago now! The way his company got around the 6 month work restrictions was to move his job locations! So same company, same role, new location!

Can anyone tell me if this is the case? Can you do that? I was under the impression it was only 6 months regardless of location!

I am literally crossing everything hoping that is the case because literally on the 5th of this month my position moved to 120k away from where my original contract was!

If you haven't heard back ring the DIAC before you cross the 6 month mark. That's what I did and the girl rang the WA partner processing office while I was on the phone and had them say that I was allowed to keep working for my company. She also warned me that they take a really long time processing the 6 month extension thing.

And, the location of work doesn't matter. ABN does. So if the company branches all operate under the same ABN you would still be violating the conditions of your visa by moving office.
