No worries, hopefully an agent will be able to help! If all else fails then at least domestic airfares are cheap in Indonesia

Hey meesha21, I just spoke to the missus over dinner and she told me that to get a police clearance for the purposes of a visa, your partner needs to go to see Polda - not just any normal polisi.

Every decent city has Polda, including Denpasar. I don't know if that's where your man has already tried, but they should be able to do it.

She told me that in Surabaya the price advertised on the board at the polda station was Rp. 10.000 ($1), but she ended up paying about Rp. 500.000 ($50) after the bribes were out of the way. (they do fingerprints, check your eyes(?apparently) and take your photo). She just told the cops she wanted to go on a holiday to Australia and she needed the police check for her visa - simple as that.

I dunno if that will help you or not, your partner might have already been to polda in Denpasar... if he has and they won't give him a police check then there's something wrong there.

haha thanks Bonez yep that's where he went - Polda in Denpasar. They took the fingerprints, checked his eyes, filled out a full description of him on the computer, gave him a recommendation letter and said he has to take it to Jakarta.
Obviously there is a way to do if the Police gave us a number for someone who could help us and also the migration agent is charging me Rp 1million to get the certificate for me but who knows what is going on in Denpasar.

Hi All,
My UK partner is about to apply for an Australian Offshore DeFacto Visa in Bali. I am wondering if any of you have had the whole process go through now and what happened. We have a lawyer organising a Police check for us for 2 Juta which is a lot I think but he can get it to us in a couple of days.

I am also wondering what happens as the Visa gets processed?
Did you have an interview for it to be finalised?
How long did it end up taking?

I would love to know more information.
