Hello everyone,

I applied for PR about a week ago and uploaded all the documents.
Two questions:

1. I only attached an Australian Police Clearance as I have been living in Australia for the past two years. I didn't attach a Police Clearance from my home country. Just want to make sure this is ok or is a Police Clearance from my home country still needed? Last time I attached it was two years ago for the 820 temporary partner visa.

2. How long does it roughly take until the application is assigned for assessment? My eligibility date for PR was 14 November.

Thanks.

1/ You only need an overseas police check for each country that you have lived in for more than 12 months since the grant of the 820.

2/ Based on what I have seen on this forum the average seems to be 14 to 16 months at the moment.

Hi Mish,

Thanks for your quick reply. Wow over a year to get is assigned for assessment.

So I guess once it is assigned that it is when they are likely to ask for a medical, isn't it?

No medicals for 801 as you did them for 820.

Usually you won't hear from the case officer unless there are doubts and they need more evidence or you forgot a mandatory document. Therefore the assigning and granting are the same time for most people.

Oh ok. However, they didn't ask me for medicals for 820. The only time they asked me for medicals was for PMV 300. So I have a feeling they might ask me again this time. We'll see what happens.
