I was check my visa last night but it says my grant number visa is not valid, and I tried check again this morning and it's the same. So I rang the immigration coz I'm woried might be something happen, they just said that my grant number is not valid anymore and she gave me new grant number visa and when I asked what type of visa I'm holding now? she said PERMANENT RESIDENCE. After that, I checked straight away than finally here it is my visa description said RESIDENCE with visa sub class 801.

I still don't believe it,but thank god after 2,5years in total, my visa has been granted.

i just saw the EXCEL file via google online that mish provided...not a indepth analysis but i saw a couple of applicants from High Risk country got their 801 within 12 months while a couple from low risk had to wait for 14 to 20 months...

Keano, I don't understand how & why too. But My others friends from Thailand & Vietnam, the processing only 3 months after eligible date, they're applied 309/100. I was wondering maybe because me & my friends have children under 15 of age so the process more quicker.

Each institution is saying something different and both TAFE and 2 Universities have stated that I need to get guidance from the DOI in order to know the answer. There are a few other things, but this is a major one atm.

I'm also confused again when he will be eligible to pass for the 801 and how much longer we (generally) need to wait.

Your husband will pay international fees as long as hes still on 820 visa.
My husband was in the same situation and he paid international fees for semester 2,2017.

Hi guys,

Hope you can help me a bit.
I am currently waiting for my visa 801 (elegibility date: 2nd march 2017, we submitted application like 8 days after that), however me and my aussie GF are in my homecountry (Mexico) for some long holidays. As my old passport, the one I did my applications with, will expire soonish, I decided to get a new one, which I got today.

I did the "update us" part of it in my immi account with my new passport details, but it says if you are updating an un-finalised application, I should submit a scanned copy of my new passport as well.
As we are in Mexico, I can do that, but I cannot take it to be certified by a justice of the peace.
Is that alright? Can i just add a new certified copy of it once we're back in Sydney in january?

Also, Do you guys know if I need to update anything else in order to link my current 820 visa to my new passport? or is it done automatically by updating the 801 application? So i dont have any issues upo re-entry to Australia in jan.

thanks a lot!

cheers.

If you are submitting it online, you only need a scanned colour copy of the passport. Don't bother trying to get a certified copy. I would upload it as soon as you have the new passport.
