It doesn't change until granted. You wait in a long queue until they decide to open your case and review it.

Thanks for responding!

No, even though our old joint account still exists, we don't use it anymore.

We have applied for a joint credit card (whereby I am considered as a supplementary card holder) and replace the credit card as our everyday expenses card (to earn points...) and the credit card statement that shows our daily expenses is provided. The two should be interchangeable, I would think...?

Oh and yes, we did - we used the partner visa stat dec template where there are 4 boxes addressing the 4 aspects.

quote=NiamhF;1646266]Hi All,

I complained on Thursday night, received an acknowledgement of the complaint today and my visa grant a couple of hours later.

Here is my timeline:

820 Application Submission: 10-AUG-14
820 Grant: 10-AUG-15
801 Application Submission: 16-AUG-16
801 Grant: 17-08-17[/quote]

Hi All

I have lodged my 820 application 3 days prior to Niamhs on the 7/8/14. It was granted on the 8/9/15. I was eligible for my 801 from the 7/8/16 and was one of the last few to receive an email in June 2016 that I was up for consideration. I already started uploading a few documents from July 2016 and finalised all documents in August 2017 (yes no typo - kind of embarrassing )

After everything was submitted we received an email 2 weeks later to update my partners statement of relationship as he had forgotten to make it a statutory declaration. We uploaded everything 2 days later and haven't heard since.

My question now is:

1) Do they count the processing time (16-22months) from the first submission date (13 July 2016) or from when you have done all paperwork and hit the "information provided" button on your immi account (5 Aug 2017)?

2) If the 16-22 months are counted from eligibility date (7/8/16) it should mean that I could receive it between December 2017 and June 2018?

3) Niamh has close to the same timeframe but has received hers already. Should I send a complaint as well and if so, how does one do that the correct way?

Thank you

Thank you for your blessing

Are you serious? I didn't know the old rules still applied as I thought the new rule has already passed this year. So does that mean even though the new rule is approved say in April 2018 that comes effective 1 July 2018, it still applies for the old rule since she was granted in Dec 2017?

Yeah, my wife is in NSW so I think its pretty much the same rule applies for VIC, no?

Thanks once again

2/ The new rules did not go through, so the old rules still apply - 4 years with 1 year PR. However, they did mention that they would be effective 1 July 2018 but that all comes down to if it gets voted or not, so you should keep an eye on it. Currently, it is what is was previously so no more than 12 months out of Australia within 3 months in the year before applying for citizenship.

3/ No. The Medicare green card will come automatically. The drivers licenses could have been done when a TR anyway. Each state is differently, so I will speak about QLD as I know the QLD rules. For QLD they need to get a QLD drivers license within 3 months of getting their 801. IF they don't then their authority to drive on Australian roads is revoked. If it takes longer than 3 months to get their license then they need to get a learners permit in order to drive on Australian roads. I am unsure what country they are from but some you can get a QLD license in replace, others you need to sit a written and driving test.

Hi Mish. I been following this forum from long time but never posted before. Can you please tell me if i could upload my application to my own immi account. I tried to import it few months ago but it says i cant have my 801 application on two immi accounts. My agent already have my application on hers. I tried calling immigration as well but they weren’t helpfull and said i cant have it on two places. Moreover, is the timesheet for 801 grants correct? Thanks in advance.
Tony

i am on my 12 months mark soon..i called twice and got rejected on my request to check the status!! -_- this is horrible..i mean we paid for a service and we have the right to check no? we are contributing to the economy as well!

anyway the person say she can only check after the 22 months mark..i was like i need to wait for 10 months more to call? and with that she say she gonna terminate the call..beepp beepp..

Yes i'm well aware of what the website states, we were just sick of waiting so we though what the heck why not try. I don't know if the complaint helped or if it was the fact we were almost in the 75% of application being approved in 16 months.

We obviously complained about the wait times, but specifically stated the fact that we had it in writing from DIBP that wait times were only 6-8 months at time of application. The main reason for the complaint though was the fact that due to such long wait times my wife was unable to find work here in Australia, she is a marine biologist and most positions are government based so naturally they require PR or citizenship. She ended up taking a 12 month contract in the Maldives (Tough life for some huh), and due to this fact we are living apart.

Hope this helps.
congrats mate! u sure have guts to comlain! hehe
