Thanks HRose313, It's just that I haven't heard anything from them,no interviews,no CO's communications..maybe the fact that we moved interstate while on 820 must have slowed things a bit.We first applied in march 2015...this forum has been an invaluable source of infos btw, but what a struggle hey?!

Did you hear anything from immigration when you applied for the 820? Many members on here often say they don't hear anything at all until their grant. It's like the old adage says, "no news is good news!". Just make sure you regularly check your e-mails, and try not to stress

They don't do them anymore so you can't get one.

Just Wondering

Hello everyone,
I have read a few threads and I can see that waiting for the 801 is a long process.

Partner Visa 820 received 26 Feb 2016
Further Information request received 11 Nov 2016
Further Information request confirmation receipt Feb 2017

Its now been 23 months since we received the 820 so I emailed them to get an update as it seemed like the time was 16- 21 months and they have now asked for another round of Police checks from country we've lived in for longer than 12 months again and more stat Dec's.
Is this normal or have i just unnecessarily flagged my file?

anyone else waiting an insane time or have i got my details wrong?

Thanks Lauren

These police checks are going to cost us another few hundred dollars.

The waiting times are based on when your eligibility date is (2 years from when you lodged your 820). Most are waiting between 12 months and 18 months from eligibility date.

It is normal for them to request police checks for the 801 as well.

Unfortunately it is one of those costs that everyone needs to pay. Unless you have lived overseas for 12 months or more simce the 820 grant you only need the AFP which is around $42 from memory.

NO It says this :
Request Detail
Police certificates
You must provide police certificate(s) from each country where you have lived for a total
of 12 months or more in the last 10 years as evidence that you satisfy the character
requirements. These 12 months are calculated cumulatively and need not have been
consecutive.
