The stat decs for the 801 are different from the 820. The applicant fills out their stat dec in their application online, and the partner needs to download and fill out this form: /Visasupport/PublishingImages/Trav/Visa/Appl/Partner/stat_dec_sponsor.pdf

The applicant's stat dec on the application asks the same questions, so you can pre-write your answers. Just note that the copy and paste doesn't work so you'll have to type out your answers on the application (or you can submit your stat dec form after applying and write "see applicant stat dec" for each answer in the online application stat dec form).

All information you provide should detail your relationship from the grant of the 820 onward (however long that may be). So if your 820 was granted in July 2017, you upload documents and talk about your relationship from then to now.

Unless you're changing addresses or leaving for an extended stay (2 weeks+), you don't need to notify immigration directly. Simply give proof of your travel (tickets, itinerary etc.). If your partner isn't going with you you may need to provide proof of contact while away, and explain their absence in a cover letter.
Thank you so much for taking your time to reply. I get overwhelmed easily, and one worry turns into 432 worries and I just walk around with a knot in my stomach hah... I guess it wont end until the day I get the final answer.

I am going away for more than that. TMI but my brother has been ill, so I going to spend some quality time with my family. The last time I saw them was a year and a bit ago. Partner cant go of course of work obligations, bills have to be paid etc. But we both agreed on that it is good I travel and spend time with them. I will explain all of this.

Do you know how I should inform them of this? Mail, phone, fill a form?

No worries, applying/waiting for a visa is VERY stressful. Little things can snowball into big things easily.

Here's a detailed explanation on updating the department about address changes: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/lega/...ssport-details

That page includes a form you can download, but it is easier to update immigration through your immi account. On your "my applications" page click into "view application". Once you get to your application's processing page, there will be a box with links on the lefthand side (the same one that allows you to upload documents). There should be a link that says "Update Us". Go into that and follow the links accordingly

I know your attention is going to be on your brother, but don't forget to save correspondence or continued proof of finances with your partner to upload to prove a continued relationship while apart.

Good luck and I hope things work out well with your brother!

Oh okey so you just treat it as a adress change. Is there anyway I can let them know it is just visiting purpose, or do I just describe it in a uploaded document in my visa application?

Thank you for that.. My brother has a long long road to recover,he had a stroke. But he is getting help. <3

One more thing (sorry) Which documents needs to be certified?
My partners stat dec since it has to be filled out by hand, or? and the other 888s. My application is online so that is not needed?

*and can the 888s from the temporary visa be the same 888s for the permanent one?

Thank you so much really <3

Good News Folks!

801 granted this morning. Partner got a call and she was shaking. haha!

Only 9 months from eligibility as we applied on the 1st of June. Eligibility was 31st of May.

Still sinking in.

Honestly, I'm not sure. If there isn't a section to describe the circumstances of your change of address in the online form, then I would just upload a written document to your account (and explain why your partner didn't go with you).

The 888's are the same as the ones for the 820, and need to be certified as well as the partner stat dec. Any other documents that aren't colour scans or computer generated documents/photos (ie items that were never printed out) need to be certified as well.

Congrats! Such great news, and an added bonus that your wait time was under 12 months. I hope you and your partner enjoy your time in Oz together

Thanks! Such a relief. Now we can finally plan our finances properly including a mortgage and what not. Next step, the citizenship but looking at the current turmoil regarding the parliament house's involvement in the new set of rules and laws regarding the citizenship, I am not getting my hopes high.

Hi guys just wanted to say I got my grant this morning!!! I spent an hour crying with joy and then spent the afternoon at work with the most ridiculous grin!! Thanks to everyone who offered advice and encouragement, finding this forum has been a life saver, it really has.

Hubby is Australian and I am from the UK.

Time line is as follows:
19th Feb 2014 - entered Australia on a 12mth Tourist Visa
7th July 2014 - Put in 820/801 application
10th June 2015 - Temporary Residency granted
June 2016 - Application for Permanent Residency went in
23rd August 2017 - I emailed about missing docs I had uploaded but could no longer see
24th August 2017 - Request for more evidence
7th Feb 2017 - I emailed my impatience lol
13th Feb 2018 - Permanent Residency granted

Just to answer a few questions earlier on the thread, I had originally done a decision ready application but whether it was a system error or my error I found out almost a year later when adding holiday evidence there was a ton of stuff missing. I was requested to redo my Police Check as even though it was valid I had missed out a surname on it (long story but it's on my birth certificate but never been used in my life) and various other things as follows:

"Please provide the following documents:
1. Certified copy of a passport or Australian drivers licence for the sponsor
2. Statutory declaration from the sponsor
http://www.border.gov.au/LegacyPages...ec_sponsor.pdf

3. One (1) completed Form 888 from one (1) Australian citizen or permanent resident
witnesses – Including evidence of Australian citizenship or permanent residency status
http://www.border.gov.au/Forms/Documents/888.pdf
3. Evidence of cohabitation
4. National Police Certificate (NPC) from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in Canberra"

after calling about missing documents (that was an hour and a half on hold!) a lady gave me the Victoria processing email which is:

[email protected]

As far I know they will only send out a generated reply, they only replied to me because I had missing evidence and the second time I've been told I'm lucky they even replied at all.
