The 888's are the same as the ones for the 820, and need to be certified as well as the partner stat dec. Any other documents that aren't colour scans or computer generated documents/photos (ie items that were never printed out) need to be certified as well.

Yeah, maybe I'll give them a call and ask about it.

Can the same people who did the 888s on 820 do it again this time around?

Partner Visa 47SP(Online) getting error "we have not been able to confirm their locat

Hello Everyone,

I am an Australian citizen and got married in India recently. My wife is in India and now i have to apply for the partner visa. I am getting an error when i file her detail as an applicant on immi account. it throws an error "Applicant XXXXXXXX is not able to complete an application for this visa as we have not been able to confirm their location. The applicant will not be able to continue and should review the eligibility information on our website"

The system is asking me few questions.
1.) Applicant is outside Australia: yes
2.) location of the applicant: India
legal status of the location: Citizen
3.) Are you applying for prospective marriage visa: No

and then after its asking me to add my wife's details (passport ones) and right after its throwing an error.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Naresh Saini

The current times (for month ending 31 January 2018) are actually stated as:

801 Visa
75% were processed in under 18 months (This could be anywhere between 1 day and 18 months)
another 15% processed between 18 and 23 months
with 10% taking over 23 months.

While this of course does not mean one will wait 18-23 months, and is just the average amount of time the majority of cases are being processed, I'm a bit surprised the timeline jumped this far. It seemed with the holidays, Immigration was pushing through applications every other day. The wait times declined from 16-22 months in October (when I applied) to 15-21 months in December-January.

Now the 75% application processing average jumped three months, and 90% average two months!

I'm not complaining of course, but it IS surprising especially giving the offshore processing offices which have sprang up recently.

A large majority, 75%, are done in under 18 months.
It is also highly possible that a majority (over 50%) are actually done in under 12 months. That could easily mean an average of 12 months.

They don't give that exact information out though.

Only about 15% of cases take between 18 and 23 months.

Some reasons for the longer times include poor applications, potential fraud checks, security checks in high risk countries, etc.

If an application is perfect in every way, it is highly feasible that it will not be in the minority of the over 18 months group.

An increase in applications from high risk countries could be one reason for some applications taking longer.

I have actually been surprised at some of the recent very fast approvals.
