Thanks for help guys
Your wife was eligible for Medicare card when she received her acknowledgment of Partner Visa application email - so about a week ago.

Work right will remain the same as her current Student Visa restrictions until the Student Visa expires in November 2018.

It is advisable not to cancel that Student Visa or the Bridging Visa A that she received after the Partner Visa application will also be cancelled.

Hi Mish,

This information was very helpful. I just logged in my ATO account and I tried to do the same and authorize access to my partner but I could not find how. I have been spending 30 min clicking on every possible link and I still cannot find how to do it.

Thanks a lot for your help

Here is how you do it:
- Log into my gov
- Click on Australian Taxation Office
- Click on Update Contact Details
- Click on authorised contact (you need to school down the page a bit)
- Click the add and complete the details to add an authorised contact

Thanks a lot Mish. Please see the screen shot attached. Strangely I do not have an authorised contact option when I go to update my contact details.

It doesn't seem like you are in the ATO one because it says it will send the details to Job S aerch Australia too. Did you click on ATO and you can see your income tax returns etc?

If twice as many people apply for the same number of visa grants, then it may well increase some waiting times. But remember, those figures state that 15% of applications are currently actually taking between 18 to 23 months, and another 10% are taking over 23 months.

The vast majority, 75%, have been decided between 1 month and 18 months, varying on complexity of the case, and the numbers of applicants.

They are finding ways to trim the time down, and will soon just reject applications that are not perfect, so we should get faster decisions, albeit at the cost of more rejections.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question! My wife and I lodged her 801-stage 2 application just a few days ago and we haven't received any email confirmation. Wanted to know if they still send these emails out or not? We just want to be sure that they received her application.

Thanks!

P.S Do I (the sponsor) also need to have an AFP check for her 801?
