Grant!

Hey guys,

I am happy to say after almost 17 months, my 820 was approved! I have lost the thread to that forum post but anyways, now I am eligible for the 801 on October 20th 2018.

My questions are: What do I need to do besides uploading things like pictures, joint invites, joint bills, proof we still are together? Do I need a new police check in Australia for myself? Do I need new stat decs or anything, I've been searching and there is a lack of information on the 801. Is there anything I actually have to apply for? I am under the assumption when its time they will just review my docs and grant or reject it? Thank you !

Congratulations! To apply for the 801 you need to start a new application online and you need new stat decs (from friends/family and from the sponsor), another AFP check for the applicant, and all the things you mentioned as well.

https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/about...ent-calculator Use this and it will take you to the checklist and give you more information about how to apply. And remember that you will not be reminded when you're eligible

Mine is Further Assessment now. Not sure what that means but finger crossed.

I noticed that generally ppl from low risk countries will get grants much faster than others. I have waited for 18 months now, no request, no update, no reply to emails....

Good luck everyone!
Hi Lijing,

This forum was actually going a bit haywire with everyone noting their "Further Assessment" status changes last week. It's an updated version of "Assessment in Progress", but any change is good. After 18 months, I hope you get your grant soon!

Thanks! I have asked an agent friend and the answer is similar. But itís a bit more clearer than Assessment in progress because it differs from first assessment now.

Thanks for the wish, I hope everyone can have their grants they deserve!

Finger crossed.

Hi everyone,

My partner had her 820 visa granted on the 4th of march 2016.... so it has now been over 2 years since that date.
We have not received any letters/email/communication about 801 eligibility or anything like that.
I have tried to contact immigration about this but I get no response.

What do we do now?? Can someone please help?
I appreciate any information. Thank you.

They stopped sending out reminders sometime last year. You need to log in to your immi account and start a new application for the 801 and upload the required documents and supporting evidence. Have a look at the partner visa calculator on their website to what you need to submit.

Sometimes, the first place you should start should be reading the immigration website on the relevant visa. Your question is answered clearly and in bold on that page.

"Your permanent Partner visa cannot be granted until two years have passed from the day you applied for that visa. We will begin assessing your application after that date.

You will need to provide evidence to show that you and your sponsor continue to be in a spouse or de facto partner relationship since you were granted the temporary Partner visa. The evidence you provide must show that you continue to have a genuine and continuing relationship, live together or not live separately and apart on a permanent basis and have a mutual commitment to a shared life to the exclusion of all others.

You do not need to wait for us to contact you. You can provide your documents no earlier than one month before that date. Do not send your documents too early; we will not begin assessing your application until two years have passed from the day you lodged that application (note: check the Global Visa and Citizenship processing times to see how long it is likely to take to process your permanent Partner visa once you become eligible for grant)."

Talking

We would like to thank everyone on this forum who provided so much informative advices and support.

I am so happy to say we got the 801 after 6 months from eligibility in Sept 2017. It was after checking vevo and having an error message, which then I called home affairs which they provided a new grant number (The golden PR numbers).

I hope this quick process gives everyone hope! And good luck to everyone!
