Ah okay, I didn't even notice that my partner's name wasn't listed before the big update! Very strange that it was added after the fact, but at any rate, thanks for the reply Kris

I am so happy to say we got the 801 after 6 months from eligibility in Sept 2017. It was after checking vevo and having an error message, which then I called home affairs which they provided a new grant number (The golden PR numbers).

I hope this quick process gives everyone hope! And good luck to everyone!
Congratulations! That's a super quick grant!

I noticed the other day that immigration's standard reply email changed, originally saying
"In the interest of fairness, applications are processed in the order of date received (lodgement date)"
under the "Can I apply for priority processing section" and now not mentioning the order of processing.

I emailed them to ask if the processing priority had changed and they assured me that applications were processed according to the date of submission. I don't understand how this can be true, but I guess we just have to take their word for it.

I know a lot of people have had the status of their application change to "assessment in progress" or similar, mine is still sitting at "received" so just playing the waiting game.

Any tips you have or ideas about why yours got processed so quickly would be appreciated

Thanks!

To be frank, there's no tips to a fast app. We were ready to wait just as long as others. All I can think of is that, since we might've been a paper app, it could possibly mean they were clearing out the backlogs of paper apps as its no longer available for partner visas plus we met all the requirements they needed when they assessed ours. Although don't take my words for it because I'm not sure.

I guess it is quite difficult for them to process in the order it's received, because each case is different in complexity I believe. Some may be easy whilst others may be more difficult (like criminal records, background checks etc..)

However, website does state that 75% of applications are processed within 15 months - which mean that can vary between 1 day to 15 months for 75% of the applications.

All the best however, you just never know when it gets picked up! Hopefully you hear something soon! Good luck.

The immigration website has been changed again. The applicants were me and my partner before and then now myself. I can’t see the processing time....

I haven't seen this evidenced as much with the 801's, but with the 820's applications that have been submitted in the past 6 months seem to be processed much quicker than those that were submitted earlier than that. Reason being that the more recent applications have been sent to offshore processing offices which have smaller or no backlogs. Unfortunately, older applications seem to be staying onshore and are being processed at the standard rate we're used to. Therefore we're seeing applicants for the 820 receiving grants in five months while someone who's been waiting 12+ plus is still waiting.

The 801's can be undergoing a different process and be going in order of upload date. I did see that Hope2018 had a migration agent on the 801 spreadsheet, but I could be mixing that up with another member. That could've been a contributing factor as well

Very strange about the immi site changing again! I wondering if the processing times will be back up at a later date.

Hi I am a newbie here.

My wife is now eligible for 801, as she is 2016 applicant, and just wanted to confirm certain things.

I understood there was one combined application for 820/801. However it seems we need to go to immi account page and make a new application for Stage 2-801. Is that correct?

Any advice will be highly appreciable.

I think from memory I used the commonwealth stat dec word document and then added in all the boxes and headings etc from the immigration PDF stat dec. There was no way I was handwriting it all.

They use the word application but it is more like you are supplying extra information even though there is a form to complete. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the info Mish. So I will get into the "new application" tab and complete the 801 form found in the Family visa section.
