My partner is from the Philippines. We're de facto and have one kid together.

Got an email a couple of weeks ago requesting a police check for step-daughter who is included as a dependent. She didn't need one when we lodged but it's taken so long that she now needs one.

Got the police check on Monday and uploaded immediately to immiaccount. Status still says 'received'. Was hoping we might see a grant soon after getting the police check. I'm wondering if it's worth also emailing it to them to make sure they see that we've sent it. We weren't asked for anything else.
Hi Ele26,

My police check will expire soon and I applied again and so with other relevant documents to submit . Could you please give me the email ad or website to upload and send them, please?

Thank you.

Hi happy91,

These are the documents we have been asked to provide after the hectic 45 minutes phone interview from case officer:-

Property ownership documents, e.g. mortgage documents, Contract of Sale/Purchase, Certificate of Title.

Statements from applicant‘s family as evidence they are aware of the couple’s relationship and accept the relationship.

Statements from the sponsor’s family as evidence they are aware of the couple’s relationship and accept the relationship.

Please provide evidence to demonstrate how the applicant and the sponsor communicate with each other’s families.

Recent utility accounts (rates notices, gas, electricity, telephone including mobile, internet connections).

Letters (including envelopes with legible postmarks) received at your current home address in joint and separate names.

I have to mention that since we have bought house together , we did not update/provide mortgage details to Department - Cos property was only in my partner's name .

in regards to Statements from families ;- cafe officer just wanted to confirm that our families are aware of us , thats why she even mentioned , do you mind if i ring them ... and my answer was yes , i can provide you number .. just wanted to know how i answer to her question i think , cos neither of our parents received any calls.

If you applied by paper you are suppise to wait until the case officer contacts you. If you applied online you upload it to your account.

They do not like you emailing them documents unless requested to do so.

It is usually cultural as in some cultures it is normal for both sides to be accepting of the relationship.

Just wanted to write a quick shout out to all of you who've been in the same boat as me for years and years. Finally........my 801 has been granted exactly 5 years after applying for prospective marriage visa, 2 years and 2 weeks after applying for 820, 1 year and 3 months after bringing our son into this world.

I've lived in Australia for four years already on a valid visa. Onto the next one then.......Australian Citizenship. ......Aluta Continua.

I wish all the very best to everyone still waiting.
