Is it okay to use the evidence we used for the 820 visa and then add more evidence from the last two years? Or should I only supply evidence from just the past two years? For example, we have a document filled with photos of us since the beginning of our relationship, should we just use photos from the last two years or can we add photos from the last two years from that document and supply photos since the start of our relationship?
You should only be providing evidence since the grant of the 820. There is no need to resupply evidence from before that. They already assessed your relationship as genuine. You're now just proving that it has continued since the last assessment.

Hi all,

Thanks for your help previously. I just have some more things that need clarification.

1. For the PMV I did an Irish police check, I am aware that I now need an Australian Police Check but do I need to do another Irish one? (I haven't lived in Ireland since my 820 grant)

2. Is it still best to wait until they ask for the police check to send it in? I'm not even too sure how long police checks take to get.

3. Do I have to do another medical?

Hi all,
I hope I’m not doubling up on a question that might have recently been asked but I looked back and couldn’t see it recently.

My partner is from the UK and we applied for our 820/801 visa last June 2017. We received the 820 grant letter on March 16 2018

I understand we can apply for the 801 in June 2019. (Two years from submission)

I am wondering if there’s anyone here who has travelled long term/moved overseas while on the 820 Temporary and/or applied for the 801 while overseas and/or been granted the 801 while overseas.

We have contacted the government twice to make sure it is okay to and they have said there is no problem living overseas while on the 820. Our plan is to go on a working holiday to Canada in January 2019 until about march 2020 and then return to Australia permanently. We would be spending all of this time together and plan to document that extensively when applying for 801.

Any info on this situation would be sooo helpful!

Thanks everyone 🙂

It's stated clearly on the immigration 820/801 website that the 820 comes with full travel rights and the 801 can be granted anywhere in the world, on or offshore.

1. No, you don't need an Irish police check; you only need a police check from Australia and any country you've lived in for 12 months or more since the 820 grant.

2. It's best to upload/apply for your AFP when you're ready to submit your 801. They take about 2 weeks arrive, but most take shorter than that. You can wait for a CO to request one, but there isn't any point in that in my opinion as it will only slow down your visa process. Plus, there's no guarantee your CO will be nice enough to ask for one if you forget to upload it!

3. No, not unless immigration requests you get one which is VERY unlikely.

Congratulations. This is great news and you must be over the moon

Are you able to please help us with a list of the supporting evidence you provided for your 801 application?

801 Questions

Hi all! Hope everyone is having an awesome day!
I'm not eligible to apply for 801 until 11th October 2018, but I'm home this week on holiday (super exciting stay in pyjamas all day, watch Netflix, and work on Visa holiday LOL) and thought I'd just get a bit of a jump organizing and scanning and I just have a couple of questions. Sorry if they've been answered, I did a search and didn't find anything relevant.

1. To what extent did you combine documents into a single file? Is it worthwhile combining evidence that is related into 1 document to upload? i.e. supplementary credit card holder, tax claims showing each other, super beneficiary, joint flybuys, etc. Or would you keep them seperate? Does it matter?

2. Unfortunately we've had a bit of a fertility struggle in the last 2 years, so we're heading down to see a fertility specialist at an IVF clinic in 3 weeks. Would you include copies of your referrals and any paperwork the clinic would provide as evidence? We do have a joint appointment and will each be tested for various things, it just seems a bit much to include a copy of my husbands sperm analysis, for example LOL. What would you guys do? Include fuel receipts (it's 5 hours away)? Take a selfie in front of the infertility clinic? (I'm KIDDING about the selfie...maybe!)

3. Did you black out credit card numbers (all but last 4 digits) etc on documents showing those?

Thanks in advance for all your help! This forum has literally saved my sanity for the past few years!
