Hi everyone
I am new to this forum. Wish I could knew this earlier. Hope you guys can get me some advices. Thanks

My husband applied the 820 visa on Aug 2015 and granted on Aug 2016 .
By the 2years time period. We should eligible to apply 801 on Aug 2017.
So we asked the agency who lodged our application 820 about this . And inform them . Is the time to apply the 801 for second state.
But the answer is , we do not need to do anything at the moment utill we have the allocated office to ask for further information.
But my husband still on visa 820. How could we have case officer??
So i am really confusing about our situation.
Should i apply visa 801 or just keep waiting as the agent said. Its almost 2.5 years since we first lodged the application.

Please anyone can suggest and tell me what can i do?

Many tks

The department no longer contacts anyone to send additional documents for the second stage of partner visas anymore. They stopped doing this last year and it is up to the individual to provide more information and documents 2 years after the initial 820 application date.

If I were you, I would get onto providing all your documents for the second stage pronto. As it has been half a year past your eligibility date, so technically they could open your file any time and make a decision based on what is provided, which is nothing.

and we havent heard about any 801 grants lately while the 100 thread seems more active .
At 7, 12, and even 13 months you are/will be well within the 801 waiting period. Wait times are listed as 75% of applicants being processed within 18 months, and 90% within 23 months. Of course, you can get processed anytime during and even after that period, but based on accounts from members on this forum 12-13 months is an average waiting time for this visa. Try not to stress about a long wait!

It's just an unfortunate part of going the partner visa route. My career field also requires PR or citizenship and I've been in the partner visa process 2 years and 4 months. At current processing times, I'm not expecting PR for another year and a half or even more.

Meanwhile I'm struggling to get a decent job on a temporary visa with no expiration date. Just part of the deal. Sucks but there's nothing I can do to speed up my own application. My partner and I are just putting some things on hold for a few years until we get through it.

Hi!!!

I was wondering if you guys could help me, I’m a bit confused.

I have applied for the 801 already, I applied in January 2018. I was elegible for it from August 2017.

My application status says “received”. But a friend of mine who just applied for hers a week ago has her status as “further assessment”.

It look as if hers was being assess and mine still on waiting to be assessed.

Does anyone knows if that means something? How accurate are those status???

Thank you guys!!!!
