I wouldn't bother trying to info interpret the statuses at all as there doesn't seem to be any sort of consistent pattern to them.

I am new to this forum. Wish I could knew this earlier. Hope you guys can get me some advices. Thanks

My husband applied the 820 visa on Aug 2015 and granted on Aug 2016 .
By the 2years time period. We should eligible to apply 801 on Aug 2017.
So we asked the agency who lodged our application 820 about this . And inform them . Is the time to apply the 801 for second state.
But the answer is , we do not need to do anything at the moment utill we have the allocated office to ask for further information.
But my husband still on visa 820. How could we have case officer??
So i am really confusing about our situation.
Should i apply visa 801 or just keep waiting as the agent said. Its almost 2.5 years since we first lodged the application.

Please anyone can suggest and tell me what can i do?

Many tks
The department no longer contacts anyone to send additional documents for the second stage of partner visas anymore. They stopped doing this last year and it is up to the individual to provide more information and documents 2 years after the initial 820 application date.

If I were you, I would get onto providing all your documents for the second stage pronto. As it has been half a year past your eligibility date, so technically they could open your file any time and make a decision based on what is provided, which is nothing.

Is that mean , i should just thru my agent to supply whatever additional documents i have ? As my agent told me, she do not know what additional documents should I provide as in different case and its depands on the case officers. she keep asking me to wait untill i have the allocated officer. So i am stuck on this state.
I read in the forum. People usually apply the 801 after 2 years. But after they are no longer to contact the applicant anymore. is that mean from 820 to 801 is the ongoing process?
Because i am not allow to log in the immi website for uploading any documents, only my agent does.

Sorry for a long question. I am really frustrating as no one can help me for this.

Many thanks

Is this agent a registered migration agent? Not sure what you mean by "she do not know what additional documents should I provide as in different case and its depands on the case officers."

It's very clear that each person needs to upload evidence that their relationship has continued, and that evidence of your relationship is to cover any period of time since the grant of the 820. Not sure why your agent isn't uploading proof of your relationship at all!

What is required at the 801 stage: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/Legac...rtner-visa.pdf

Skys post above sums it up perfectly.

And I highly agree, I am not sure if your agent is a registered migration agent - because from what you have posted, it seems like they dont know what they are doing.

A quick question anybody has answer to. Do you have to notify immigration about change in circumstances like address change after getting 801 visa. On my grant letter says I do need to. I'm not sure why. Anyone ?

I would. They need to have your current details in case they need to contact you. As long as you aren't a citizen, you still have a visa and so I would think the department would need your information to contact you if necessary in regards to that.

It takes only a minute to log in to immi and do it so it's not as cumbersome as people think.

and keep in mind you need to update passport details. my wife's cousin was lucky to get on the plane to leave the country as she hadn't updated them as no one told her. they couldn't understand why they didn't do that when she got the new passport.

Hi all,

I am a silent reader of this forum and it has been so incredibly helpful in my journey over the past few years. I have received my grant notice today!

I applied online on the 29th of April 2015 - 820 visa was granted on the 21st of March 2016 - applied for 801 visa on the 29th of April 2017 - 801 visa was granted on the 12th of April 2018!

I never received any correspondence from immigration other than the grant notice in my inbox. It still feels surreal! Best of luck to those still waiting!
