They're fortunate it didn't go straight to refusal.

Thanks - that's very frustrating to wait longer then necessary..

Why? That makes no sense - I have always provided everything they need so why do you think it could have gone for refusal... I don't understand what you saying.

You were supposed to have done the 801 in February 2017. But you left it, and did not upload the required 801 evidences. In theory the 820 could have been cancelled.

Due to the recent changes, people who forget to complete an application can have the visa decided on any existing information submitted, whether complete or not.

Ok thanks for the explanation - I did not realise that - from what I have read (perhaps incorrectly) many people on here are submitting "late". I tried several times to submit it but it kept kicking me out of the system so I figured it was too early or a system issue. Gave it a year and tried it again. Either way it seems to be moving along now. I am more interested in how long now? Since they sent me "additional details" and I provided them. The first time around on the 820 they would ask for stuff then a month later ask for more things...

Also I can see your close in time to me (I think) - when did you receive yours if you don't mind me asking.

In theory the 801 grant is often about 36 months after the 820 submission date.
Yours could be very soon, or maybe later due to not having begun it yet.
Probably unable to tell.

On our 801, due in 2 weeks time, i will probably submit on the day, or within 2 weeks after.

Ok Thanks - I just want to be clear I submitted my 801 in Feb - this is recent contact that they have begun with me asking for additional docs. So that is why I think I must be finished soon - there are literally no more docs I can provide and all details are current. I even provided a current police check even though not asked for it.

If you had submitted in Feb 2017, it is very likely you would have been granted in Feb 2018.
If immigration are nice they could grant it quickly, but may not need to until Feb 2019, ie: about 12 months after beginning it.
