Just throwing this out there - on the 820 they asked for info which I provided - then I heard nothing for a month - then they asked for more info which I provided then it took 2 more months before I finally passed that stage. This time they have asked for more info and I provided that and have been waiting a month - I guess this is pretty standard. I think its hard because when they get ahold of you - you wake up every morning hoping the grant has been emailed - It seems like only when you give up and get on with life it suddenly magically appears. Still I am finding it hard this time to try and put it out of my mind and just wait... So excited to be so close...

What kind of additional info have they asked you for this time? And how long have you been waiting for your 801 approval?

So, I was one of the ones caught in the new rules - I thought they were supposed to contact me and apparently they don't do that anymore so my 801 could have been submitted Feb2017 but was submitted Feb 2018 - That is all I submitted at first. There was a list of recommended docs but I hadn't actually even considered it yet when the CO contacted me within a month and asked for a number of docs - Proof relationship was still ongoing, proof that our finances were joint, 2 x 888's and sponsor declaration. I immediately sent them that and few other supporting docs including a police check that is current (wasn't asked for). Now I have just been waiting and waiting. As soon as I stop checking every single day sometimes twice a day I am sure I will hear something from them - even if its just asking for more docs.

Thanks for the explanation. I was just reading your past posts to understand your situation. Did they ask you for this proof before or after you had submitted your 801 application? Had you provided this kind of proof already and they asked for more, or you had not provided it yet when they asked?

Hi sorry I wasn't clear - so all I gave them for the 801 was the application and nothing else at that time as there was only a list of recommended not required info. My experience with the 820 was they are pretty explicit when they want to know something and what they want to know. So it was just the application - that redundant annoying 26 page one that covers everything you had put in the first one - which I found very frustrating to work through for a second time - That was it - nothing else - then a month later the CO contacted me and asked for docs I listed above - I provided very detailed and lengthy docs to support the questions they asked for and like I said provided a few extra that I thought would help them. To be fair I was really feeling good that things were finally moving along - now I feel a bit defeated having heard nothing since.
