Finally 801 Grant is here

Hello Guys,

Finally I got 801 Grant today. It has been a hell of a journey.
Yesterday, I submitted my first post on this forum and asked for opinion whether I should lodge a complaint as I have been waiting for 801 grant for 20 months and 20 days.

One member suggested that I should lodge a complaint. So I did lodged it yesterday and this morning I got reply back from immi that I should wait as I am still in processing time 18 to 21 months and let this time elapse then we lodge the complain again then we will follow it up.

Now this afternoon I finally got the 801 grant email. I have checked my immi account which says my application has been finalised and vevo account is showing error.

I would like to thank everyone on this forum who are contributing and posting helpful stuff for other applicants.

Here is my timeline.

820 lodged on 26 August 2014
820 granted on 25 September 2015
801 lodged on 27 August 2016
801 granted on 17 May 2018

I would like to wish best of luck to all the fellow applicants who are waiting for their 801 to be granted. Be patient and keep uploading evidences to show that you are in genuine and on going relationship and it will happen to you one day.

Congratulation.
I noticed that the grant comes within few days from complaining. U r not the first one in this forum who gets the grant after complaining. I think that’s tell me that checking the application and giving the grant take only few days and not as we are lead to believe it takes months. Also it seems that the status on the web site is irrevlant. They also let us believe that they process applications based on the order they submitted, I think this is not true. I have been waiting since December 16 and my status is still received. I have sudmitted a solid application and updated loads of documents every 3 months. I think it is all controlled in a way we will never understand and designed to achieve certain goals other than what we were lead to believe.

Thank you. I have seen so many grants for people who submitted their applications after me. So I really do not know how do they prioritise processing an application. I know it is very frustration as you see people getting their grants before you who applied so many months after you.

It seems there are lots of applications around early 2017 and mid 2017 are nearly finalised. I believed the Immi are doing everything their best to speed up the waiting period. Look after Dec 2017, all application have to be lodged through Immi account online, no more paper applications, even mine is also lodged through Immi although my defacto partner really want paper application. I guest the immi department has allocated more staff on immi account, once all the paper application are cleared, so those applied through immi account can be faster too.

All the best who are waiting, incl me....hahahaha.

BTW anyone whose eligible date is also around Nov 2017 can say hi to me.

Processing Time

What does this mean and I quote “In interest of fairness, applications are generally processed in chronological order of date of lodgement”??

And some apps are opened and unable to be finalized straight away. If your background check takes 8 months to come through, should they sit and wait until your app is finalized before going to the next person? Or you didn't upload everything so they have to request something. Should they sit and wait until you supply that information in those 28 days before moving on to the next app in line?

Multiple people processing multiple apps in multiple areas. If you think they could possibly do them in order of received, you're ridiculous. If anything, people should be happy that some get processed more quickly than others as that's less people in queue to hold your own app up.

I've seen an app refused due to bad mouthing immigration. If you think they don't frequent these public forums...

I'm sure everyone else is tired of your negative attitude as well. How does complaining every hour process your app any faster?

Personally, I wish they'd refuse ungrateful entitled people and only let in those smart enough to realize it's a privilege not a right to be able to come to such a great country. But fortunately for some people, that's not the case and the Aussie gov't opens it's arms to even the worst people... who probably don't even have the decency to say thank you.

Can I ask you for how long you waited for yours? I think you are being a bit aggressive and using words such as 'ungrateful and entitled' just because people show their frustration on the forum isn't helpful to anyone.
I am really appreciative that I am here ,for instance, and I love this country and doing my very best to integrate.
However, being unhappy about unreasonable and UNFAIR processing times doesn't make you ungrateful. I believe that the department can make this process more fair by processing the applications more or less in the order. I think the time frames for the second stage are quite ridiculous but I wouldn't mind so much if the process was fair to everyone. How is it impossible for them to process it in order?I am not talking about 24 of May application being processed before 25 of May, I am talking about not processing someones applications from August 2017 before they process August 2016. Is it unreasonable requirement? If they keep increasing partner visa fees ( which is the highest in the world), they could at least modify their process a bit, to actually do the applications in order. That doesn't require them to wait for anyone, they could request additional documents and move on to the next application in line.
Anyone who applied for this visa, knows that feeling of being up in the air and anxious waiting and waiting... It is not pleasant for anyone no matter what the circumstance are. Maybe, trying to be more compassionate towards each other would be more helpful than writing posts like you did in this thread?
Of course, it is a great opportunity to live in Australia, but it is pretty apparent that this country needs immigrants to keep the economy going, especially young people starting families and both working full time and paying taxes. It would help if the department of immigration was treating the applicants with some more respect ( I am talking about generic responses that people get after waiting 20+ months)...
