There was alot of "there are our new processing times", they didn't take into account that it was 6 to 8 months when we applied. They also said that they will not answer any emails on the process unless it is over the service standard. So I guess that means unless you have been waiting over 20 months they will not reply to your email.
we are same . i am also over 12 months from the date of eligibility.

If you want, lodge a complaint with DIBP and then after that you can lodge a complaint with the ombudsman (the ombudsman says it will not look at complaints if you have not lodged a complaint with the agency first). Obviously you need to allow DIBP time to respond to the complaint - generally 2 weeks.

Hi , I totally agree with Mish. Ombudsman will ask for the soecific Immi complaint number responded by immigration and take it from there. Go to the Genera
complaint via the Immigration website then wait within two weeks for their reply. I am waiting closing to 20 months but have been contacted days ago by Immi about new AFP.

Mish what's the link to file the complaint .
My hubby is coming up to 12 months and we're no longer finding it funny.

I still believe that 20months should have been applicable to anyone who had applied after the day it was announced .

I totally agree about the processing times should be what they were when we applied. I have put that in my complaint.

Unfortunately those that applied early this year will not be able to use that as a complaint avenue as they have now taken out the processing time estimate.

We are 12 months on the 14th. If nothing by the weekend I will do a new AFP for hubby.

Hi Mish,

I want to lodge a complaint about the processing time. I am about 12 months by 06 June 2017 and true ,it isn't funny anymore because I received an acknowledgement letter from DIP that they received my application and was told that the processing date was within 6-8 months . When I reached 8 months, I wrote an inquiry to them about the status of my application and a letter-response said that they will not entertain my query if not 12 months or more waiting. I want to make a complaint same as you did. Please advise me where to file my complaint first? what website?

Thank you.Mish. I know your ideas here are very helpfu.l

You lodge through immigration: https://www.border.gov.au/about/cont...enship-service

Then wait either for a reply or about 2 weeks (whichever happens first). After that you can lodge a complaint with the ombudsman.

I agree that it is getting ridiculous. I was happy to wait until they said you need to be PR for 4 years for citizenship.

I did raise with the ombudsmen about the 6 to 8 months and that it had been exceeded. I told them that I was not satisfied with DIBP's response and they asked for a copy of DIBP's response.

They can't complain as they get a black mark against them (I believe).
