Hey Guys,

I need your suggestion. If someone married for 3 years and has a kid. Having 820 for over a year and lodged combined application more than 28 months ago, lodged 801 in june 2018 but was eligible in april 2018, can request the department to expedite the processing of 801?

Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Cheers

Anyone can request to be processed faster but doesn't mean they'll do it. If your only proof of needing to be expedited is being married and having a kid, that not much of anything when pretty much most applicants in a family stream visa are married or have kids or both.

The long term relationship criteria of being married/de facto for 3 years, or 2 years with a child of the relationship, waives the 2 year waiting period for the 801 so speeds up the process that way. But that's an at time of application requirement and wouldn't apply to you already at the 801 eligibility stage as there's nothing to waive.

Two weeks ago I was asked to supply more evidence of financial partnership & our police checks. Not 24 hours after submitting I was granted 801.

Lots of sleepless nights & fear of the unknown. Good luck everyone! Feel free to ask questions if you have any
The uncertainty of the waiting time is over. Congratulations

The case officer requested for stat dec, certified copy of my passport and my partner passport copy.

We did not submit it during application, wish was our mistake

Someone mislead us that we supplied it in visa 820 that we don’t need to anymore..

Are you in similar situation?
