I did it just shy of 11 months. In all honesty, I don't think waiting over 12 months or not will matter now as the processing time says 90% within 20 months.

Here is something from the response they provided:

We do not respond to status-related enquiries that fall within the published processing times. You should wait until after the processing time has elapsed before contacting us. If you lodged your application online, you can monitor the status of your application through ImmiAccount.

Then wait either for a reply or about 2 weeks (whichever happens first). After that you can lodge a complaint with the ombudsman.

I agree that it is getting ridiculous. I was happy to wait until they said you need to be PR for 4 years for citizenship.

I did raise with the ombudsmen about the 6 to 8 months and that it had been exceeded. I told them that I was not satisfied with DIBP's response and they asked for a copy of DIBP's response.
Hi Mish,

I will also finish 1 year in few days , last march i sent and email to the immi and they confirmed to me that the max processing time is 12 Months , i also Agree that the new processing time should apply on new applications and not the Old one ( like the citizenship new rules).

I will try to send them another email and see what they will say ,can you please advise how can lodge a complain and what is ombosudum?!!

Thanks

Firstly you lodged a complaint with DIBP through: https://www.border.gov.au/about/cont...enship-service

Then wait for a response or if no response, lodge a complaint with the ombudsman after 2 weeks: https://forms.business.gov.au/smartf...complaint-form

The ombudsman is someone you complain to when you are not happy and they will investigate it.

Hi Mish

Which option did you select when it came down to " feedback relates to"

My husband will hit 11 months waiting period tomorrow . No contact , no email . What a department .

I will bear the pain and wait for 12 months mark then I will file my complaint officially.

I said service standards.

I see people applying to go to the UK on a spouse visa complaining .... my visa took ages to grant, it took 4 months. We would totally love to see 4 months for our visas.

The budget next week will be very interesting for sure.

Hey EDT & Mish,

I'm pretty much three weeks off my 12month mark so I'll be filing my complaint with DIBP on Monday 29th May 2017, provided a baby doesn't appear and I get side-tracked LOL.

Give them until June 12th to respond and then drop a line to the ombudsman.

That's a smart move

So I got an email from immigration the other day asking for an updated police clearance so they can finalise my visa. I've been waiting just over 22 months now. So fingers crossed

WOW! You are so patient. When was your eligibility date for the 801? (some people apply before the eligibility date). Also did you apply by paper?

Hi DarrenD,

22 months! I see you are from the UK. Do you have a particularly complex case?

Regards, MrStocks80
