Certainly you are frustrated to write such a comment. Skybluebrewer is one of the most helpful and supportive members of the forum.

I know a person who had to wait for 4.5 years on bridging visa. Their complaint never been answered. Received the 820 and 801 both together few months ago.
Unfortunately, for some, the waiting time is longer than normal.

I applied for the 820 in October 2016, am I correct in the fact that my partner (the sponsor) doesn't need an AFP check done? I just need to have mine done again correct for the 801? I know they made it a req. after November 2016 but wasn't sure if it applied to the 801 as well. Ta

820 lodged on 19th of December 2014.

801 lodged on 19th of December 2016.

Cross fingers for my PR and good luck to everyone who's been waiting more than 20 months!

Martin.
I have be reading lots of people saying they are from low risk country but their process is taking very long.. let's be clear on this, your countries of origin doesn't matter to process your visa application. if the immigration consider such things is called DISCRIMINATION. also every visa case is different. for example... some people on here who came from a PMV will wait more than 6 months to get their 820 approved. meanwhile some people will get theirs done in days.(my 820 was approve in 5 days) and i am form what many will called high rick country.

Hello all,

I would also like to share my case, as I have been waiting for quite a while now - 22 months? and counting.

Lodged 820: Early Dec 2014
Granted 820: Late Feb 2016
Eligible for 801: Early Dec 2016
Lodged 801: Late Apr 2017

In light of this, I have a few questions that I hope forum members can help me with.

Is the "estimated 801 processing time" based on the eligibility date or the lodgment date of the 801? I'm a bit confused about this.

According to my immiacount, it says that my application "has been received", however it "has not been assigned for assessment". Does this mean:
A case officer hasn't been assigned? Or
A case officer has been assigned but is yet to look at it? Or
Something else?
Is it different to other people who's status shows "further processing"?

I am a bit worried that immigration may have "missed" my application and I am thinking about calling and asking them about it. Would you think it's advisable to call them? Or should I keep playing the waiting game?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Wait times are based on eligibility dates, not submission dates.

No idea. I pay no attention to status as it doesn't seem to be very consistent. For both my partner visas, I never saw my status change until it was finalized.

Did you do it online or by paper? It's easy to feel forgotten about but some people have waited just as long. Doesn't hurt to call to make sure you're in the queue. Maybe it'll push you along.

Thank you very much for your reply and advice Skybluebrewer, my thoughts have settled down a bit.
I'll keep playing the waiting game and hopefully myself (and everyone else still waiting) will get our 801s granted soon.

Just for completeness, I lodged my 801 application online.

Then they should have it. As opposed to a paper application that could have been lost en route! Unfortunately, sometimes they just take longer with some applications than others, for whatever reasons. Good luck on a grant soon!

Anyone know or experience about medical examination thing? I have updated my application last month and now it is 25 month already. Is it normally wait until the link appear in your Health assessment in your Immiaccount or could do in advance?
I just called Immigration and they gave me my HAP ID already, but I have no clue what to do since the link in my health assessment haven't appear yet?
