A bit of background - I lodged a complaint with immigration the end of April 2017 and then got a standard response in early May 2017 (it was the same response as others had received). I lodged an ombudsman complaint afterwards and was advised on Monday that immigration had 21 days to reply. Immigration request today that I withdraw the ombudsman complaint as they already had a case officer working on the case. It sounded like they were working on it from the immigration complaint that I lodged. They said that it required additional departmental resources to deal with 2 complaints. I told them I would withdraw the complaint and they said that it would be finalised today or tomorrow. She would not advise on the phone if it was an approval but said I can tell by her voice lol.

The entire process from the first application took 4 years and 1 month and 1 week (approximately).
Mish congratulations
That's great news . I am going to file a complaint now . I was hoping to wait the 12 months mark but not anymore . Enough is enough . We were told 6-8 months when we applied then 10 months .

Briefly can you please tell me what you said in your complaint letter .

That is so AWESOME!!! Congratulations!! I know you're happy that is finally done. Nice to see that you were able to get something done when you filed a complaint. Time to celebrate!

I just talked about how when we applied the wait was 6 to 8 months and how we had been waiting almost 12 months and it was outside their quoted service standard.

https://forms.business.gov.au/smartf...complaint-form

Most people lodge with the ombudsmen 2 to 3 weeks afterwards.

I did get the impression from immigration that my case was already with a case officer based on my immigration complaint but I can't confirm if that is correct or not. They did ask me why I lodged a cimplaint with the ombudsman when they said that they would pass it on to the relevant area .... woops.

I felt the same way. If the replies to the complaint were more individualised it would be better.

I forgot to say I lodged mine after I got the immigration reply which was about 2 weeks.

I checked last night and the immi account was at received still.

Thanks Mish, will give a call tomorrow!

By the way, as we have submitted the 801 form end of last year, I just actually realise, that there is 1 form that is missing that I didn't submit yet which is the stat declaration from the sponsor (i.e. which is me...).

I wasnt aware that I need to submit it since the questions answered end of last year were similar to my wife anyways

I am happy to do that , but I want ask

1) Is it this one, I need to fill in?

https://www.border.gov.au/Visasuppor...ec_sponsor.pdf

(of course I will include them seperately in PDF)

2) Some of the things above in PDF questions like nature of household, financiual committment, social aspects, nature of committments to each other etc were already written by my wife end of last year (explaining since the grant of 820) which she has needs to relate to me anyways when showing the photos, documents etc

I mean as a sponsor stat declaration, is it necesary to repeat it again?? Like put the Facebook photos on it again, put the bank statements again, documents etc as it will be pretty much repeated to what she has written end of last year. The only thing that I can think of that differs from her is explaining me how I 'personally' feel that changed for our relationship

Thanks again!

You need to write it from your prospective even though it will be the same kind of information (which they would expect).

The bank statements etc only need to be attached once to the online applicatiin.
