Hey guys,

I understand your frustration as I'm in the same boat and on the top of that I have an immigration lawyer and it doesn't make it quicker. I'm just between IWAN and ASB as I've been waiting 22 months since my lodgement of 820/801.

Unfortunately for us we are still in the normal processing time which is 18 to 24 months at the moment on the last update from the 17 October 2018 instead of 25 months before that (WOOOW ONE MONTH LESS!!! LOL).

It also means that 90% of the application will be finished during this time and the remaining 10% could take longer and who knows how long. So at the moment there is no point making complaint if you still in the processing time. After the 24 months I would recommend to make one and IWAN you definitely should contact the Melbourne processing centre for the PR.

Good luck to everyone and it won't be long.

Regards.

Hey Martino,

We are married and have been together in total for 5 years now and we just had our first baby this year. We have our own house and have been travelling a lot together.
I did the application by myself and I am coming from a high-risk country.

I hope this helps and I wish you good luck with your application.

hey everyone, my partner and I are eligible to apply for the subclass 801 since August, we didn't send it yet cause we still try to collect some evidence etc.

I have a passport that is running out next year and I need to renew it soon, I will have to wait for it around 3 months so arrive and my question is should I wait for the new passport to come in and then send application and a info page to department that my passport has changed or doesn't matter? and then if I would send it after I get a new passport do I use the old number (the same as I put on application for 820?)

also do I need to write stat declaration and go to JP to sign it? cause it seems that is the same thing you have to write in the online application form?

I would suggest you submit your 801 application now with available evidence and mandatory documents. You can progressively submit remaining evidence when you find them ready for submission. With passport, you can continue with current one and when you get new one just submit a form online on your IMMI account to update your passport details. At the time of case officer assessing your 801 application, he/she will consider new passport details available on file and will grant you 801 on new passport number. I had to renew my passport while my 820 was under assessment. At the time of submitting 820 I had old passport and at the time of getting 820 granted I had new one. All I had to do was submit a form and provide a copy of my new passport details on my IMMI account and rest was handled by assessing officer.

I hope this will help you

Should I use immi account or post?

Hi guys, just have a question regarding to my application. We initially applied for 820 by post in Nov 2014, then we applied by post again for 801 in Jan 2017. We’ve got more documents that we want to submit. My question is should I send them by post or create an immi account? I tried to create an online immi account but it seems like I have to start the whole 801 process again. Applying online will be faster and more efficient than post.

Is anyone in the same situation?

Thanks in advance.

29 months. Someone applied 801 on March 2016 and granted 29 months later. Overall (820+801) he waited for 4 years and 5 months. At the moment Iwan4365 and josephm89 are waiting since September 2016 and they are waiting the longest among us.

Have you tried the inquiry form yet? I posted the link to it several times recently.

No idea. I pay no attention to status as it doesn't seem to be very consistent. For both my partner visas, I never saw my status change until it was finalized.

Did you do it online or by paper? It's easy to feel forgotten about but some people have waited just as long. Doesn't hurt to call to make sure you're in the queue. Maybe it'll push you along.
Thank you very much for your reply and advice Skybluebrewer, my thoughts have settled down a bit.
I'll keep playing the waiting game and hopefully myself (and everyone else still waiting) will get our 801s granted soon.

Just for completeness, I lodged my 801 application online.

Hi gr33ns,

Have you got any news from immi? I lodged my 820 just one month before you Nov 2014 and 801 in Jan 2017. I still haven’t heard anything from the department. 🙁
