Hello everyone
I am happy to share that I got my 801 visa grant today.

I applied for 820/801 in April 2016(onshore application) was on tourist visa.
Bridging visa granted on the same day of application.
After 32 months today I got 801.

Thanks everyone for helping.
It really feels like winning a war especially when you don’t get contacted by CO or any person.

I think what makes my file get review a bit faster was complaining on departments website and when didn’t got back to me I made a complaint to ombudsman too. Everything was paced up after that.

Thanks again and all the very best to those who are waiting.

You can apply 801 after 2 years from the date of initial lodgement or the day when you applied for 820.

You can apply Feb 2019. That is 2 years from when the 820 application was lodged. Remember, they want to see evidence from Sep 2018 onward, as that's when you were granted the 1st stage/820.

Ok, I've uploaded my Evidence List for the CO. I labeled it ATT: Decision Ready 801 Visa Evidence List. Hopefully, that'll help with the review. I am stuck at this stage until we get the PR. Can't get a home loan through my bank (they don't allow loans after a certain amount of time on the 820). Also, I can't advance any more at work (I'm a teacher). In order to go to Senior Teacher and then Level 3 Classroom Teacher, I have to have PR. So, now I'm stalled out at work. And the scary part is that the processing time is showing 18 to 24 months. Sigh. I know I'm far from the only one that may be stuck in limbo for a long time. Just a little vent due to my frustration of finding I can't do the things I need to until that grant comes in.

So happy to have this forum!!! LOL

That is fast. We did the 820 application in May 2016, so the 801 eligibility date was May 2018 although didn't submit it till August.

Hope we get lucky like you.

I'm going to be a bit pedantic here, but you already applied for the 801.

It's called an 820/801 application for a reason, because you apply for both at the same time and pay one fee. Stage 2 eligibility is not the same as application. Literally the only reason an 820/801 applicant is eligible for Medicare is because they've made a permanent visa application (the 801 part).

But as already said, you're eligible for Stage 2 two years after you made the 820/801 application (so (day) Feb 2019) and evidence required is since the grant of the 820 (so (day) Sep 2018 to (day) Feb 2019.

I would explain those circumstances in the enquiry form if you choose to do it. I did explain my circumstances regarding my career choice as well.
