I did not send anything to the department.
My wife called the department last Thursday they said do not send anything unless the CO ask for.
So your visa got granted 1 week after your wife called the department?

Yes,but I think it is not about the phone call.

because my wife even didnot provide any information about my application. and they just ask about the time of apply and say still in the 18-24 months and no need to provide any documents if they did not ask for.

I used the "Other" section pretty extensively, even with the four main category options being there.

Personally, I think immi needs a revamp. Why preload category options at all? Should just be a drop down for main category choices (i.e., social, financial, etc) then a sub-drop down menu for more specific items (i.e., wills, bank statements, photos, insurance, etc).
I have never got the 4 categories preloaded. Only I got others. So I submitted each file with the categorie name first. Example: household-lease.pdf, financial-bankstatement.pdf , etc, etc

Can't get a home loan through my bank (they don't allow loans after a certain amount of time on the 820). Also, I can't advance any more at work (I'm a teacher). In order to go to Senior Teacher and then Level 3 Classroom Teacher, I have to have PR. So, now I'm stalled out at work. And the scary part is that the processing time is showing 18 to 24 months. Sigh. I know I'm far from the only one that may be stuck in limbo for a long time. Just a little vent due to my frustration of finding I can't do the things I need to until that grant comes in.

So happy to have this forum!!! LOL
Hi LadyRogueRayne,

Your timeline is quite similar to mine. You are right it is a long waiting game and I do understand the frustration. With mortgage, have you tried talking to different banks and different brokers? Our mortgages were recently approved (last month) with the combined value of a little over a million. My partner is citizen and I am on 820, our visa circumstance should be similar if not same. Keep in mind you might have to bare with higher interest rates with some banks (that would allow visa 820).

Further, we went with CBA as NAB and ANZ rejected us.

Applied 820 - Aug 16
Requested docs - Feb 17
820 Granted - March 17
Applied 801 - Aug 18
I have similar timeline:

Applied 820: 1 Aug 2016
Requested docs: 26 Apr 2017
820 Granted: 9 Jun 2017
Applied 801: 31 July 2018

Did you lodge any complain/inquiry or only phone call?

It is awful to hear you have to put this on hold. I think now is quite a tricky time to get a loan as they are tightening the lending criteria, unless you satisfied most or all requirements they won't take the risks.

How long since you applied 801? I hope you receive a grant soon and can start a new life chapter.
I hope so, and likewise.
We applied for 801 on the first half of Feb 2017 (21 months ago). That is as well the eligibility.

Hi All,
I have two questions.

1) I have a full AFP that my employer obtained. This is not one of those agency checks because my job involves some sensitive infomation. I think it should be fine to upload to my 'application' but wondered if anyone had any experience of the situation.

2) The website specifically says you can upload evidence a month before your eligibility date (30th November) but the form asks if it has been two years. I answered Yes so I could complete the form but if I submit then technically I have lied and I think you can only upload docs AFTER submitting the form.

Thanks for your input!

1) You'll have to use the National Australian Police Check. I tried to use the AFP for my employer (full one as a teacher), but it wasn't accepted. However, if you provided AFPs during the 820 visa stage, you shouldn't need them for the 801 stage.

2) Mine was the same. I answered yes, as the email that I received stated that I could go ahead and submit my 801 stage application. So I did the same thing you did. Don't think they look at it as "lying" as they told us that we could go ahead and submit. I stressed a little over it at first, but then realised that it's not an issue.
