Hi all. I have applied 820/801 in august 2016 and never heard back from the department till october 2018 and then they asked me for AFP check, form 888, more evidences of relationship and i did my health check recently and still waiting on their response. So for now its 27 months since i applied. Has it taken that long to anyone to process their visa?

This thread is aimed at people who already have 820 and have had for 2 years. We are now waiting for 801, permanent residency.

So, let see:
  • You were on student visa
  • You applied for 820/801 in Aug 2016 while your student visa was still valid
  • You were on student visa for 26 months until it expired.
  • Now you are on bridge visa for one month.

The processing time for 820 increased to 21 to 25+ months. You may receive your 820 any time. Have you tried to call immigration?

It's been more than 24 months from your application date. It means you are eligible for 801. So, once you receive 820, you can apply for 801 right away. The processing for 801 is 25 months as well.

I've seen a case similar to yours. The applicant's 820 and 801 issued together. The applicant though kept the department up-to-date all the time. But the person waited almost for four years on bridging visa.

Hi all we applied for our 801 in January this year and recently had a request for another police check and today we received another email but it said they had some unfavorable information ... it seems we forgot to take in our marriage certificate to Centrelink although I did phone them up and let them know when we did get married. So they have us a s de facto. Has anyone any info on how they will react to this.
I am going I. The morning to Centrelink to get them to copy the marriage certificate and then we will email back explaining what happened along with the police check which has also arrived .
The email also was addressed from Natural Justice??? Anyone know anything about this name ? Thanks

Thats weird did u upload enough evidence to prove your relationship on the 801 application and when were u eligible to apply ? I think if u have too much evidence with ur partner that shouldnt be a big problem as u can say u just forgot to update ur relationship status with centrelink

Urgent help needed.

Dear friends on AustraliaForum,
My fiance and I appled for Partner Visa 801 (820) earlier this year.
We applied for Bridge B visa for a June travel overseas and it was uneventful. Recently we went overseas again to visit her parents. I came back to Australia a bit earlier due to family emergency and now have realised that her Bridge B visa had expired for a month. I wasn't aware that it had expired so soon. Now I know we are in deep trouble. What's the best course of action to remedy this? She doesn't have the ETA privilege. How should she apply for a tourist visa to come back? Is the chance of denial of visa/deny of entrance to OZ high? Your kind help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi everyone,
My husband and I are close to submitting the 801 partner visa application (yey!).
I’ve filled in the online application to the point where it asks for the “current relationship” in 5 boxes - finance, household, social, commitment, and development of relationship since visa grant.

We have both prepared separate statutory declarations which outline our joint finance, household, social matters and commitment. In the stat decs we also point to the proof we’ll provide.

My question is: For the online boxes that overlap with the stat dec, do I enter the same text I wrote for my stat dec or should I write a new text for the online boxes ? OR should I rather avoid the duplication or confusion and in the online box briefly refer to the attached statutory declaration and specify where the file is located.
How did you do it?

I’d like to do whatever is easiest for the CO.
Thanks for any advise on this.
