Thanks - it was great to throw the movie tickets in the bin last night after we went. It still doesn't feel real.

Ah I know right! It didn't feel real for me too back then; I finally shredded all the paperwork after a few days after the grant had "sinked in".

I am not looking forward to shredding 4.5 years worth of evidence.

I found it funny that my husband got a new interim card on Friday because his was expiring in a couple of weeks. I guess the new green Medicare card will come in the next week or so.

Can't wait for my hubby to get his PR
Living in that uncertainty is worthless
I just hope he gets it before his uni starts in July
We 're not looking forward to pay international fees
Complaint has gone through and if I don't hear from them by the 23 of this month I will take it to the Ombudsman

A bit of background - I lodged a complaint with immigration the end of April 2017 and then got a standard response in early May 2017 (it was the same response as others had received). I lodged an ombudsman complaint afterwards and was advised on Monday that immigration had 21 days to reply. Immigration request today that I withdraw the ombudsman complaint as they already had a case officer working on the case. It sounded like they were working on it from the immigration complaint that I lodged. They said that it required additional departmental resources to deal with 2 complaints. I told them I would withdraw the complaint and they said that it would be finalised today or tomorrow. She would not advise on the phone if it was an approval but said I can tell by her voice lol.

The entire process from the first application took 4 years and 1 month and 1 week (approximately).
How did I miss this.... yayyyyy congratulations Mish... you must be soooo relieved... now you can finally breathe properly.
I have 2 yrs to wait till my hubby gets his lol...
🎉🎊🎉

Hey Scotty P, I applied just a month after you and I've been keeping an eye on the time frame and it should be around 12months. I was quoted 6-8months as well, but I don't think they will look into your complaint unless you are over 12months.

Yes I was thinking that, technically we have been waiting abut 8.5 months as we applied 1st of September. I don't mind waiting a few extra months. The main thing that concerns me is the new citizenship laws, if passed will make you wait four years on your PR visa before you can apply for citizenship.

our main concern now is Citizenship, has everyone signed the petition going around?
