Application Submitted > Application Received > Initial Assessment > Further Assessment > Finalised ???
It's hard to say. I applied 1 month early, and mine says "Further Assessment." But, others haven't ever changed from "Received" all the way up until they received a grant.

I also applied a month early, but i requested a formal letter of proof of application for Medicare, therefore they sent it to me and my status went to "Initial Assessment".

I applied earlier this week (front-loaded application) and it went to “Further assessment” immediately ( I doubt that that’s actually the case since I just applied). Not sure what the works behind this is: Maybe the system can assess what’s uploaded, maybe it’s something that’s pre-determined in the 820/309 stage, maybe it goes by eligibility date, maybe it’s completely random - No idea (Note: these are all just hypothetical questions I’m asking myself not founded on any proof)

There has been some discussion on this topic in this thread and opinions are mixed. It seems like the status doesn’t mean much since some go from received to finalised without hearing anything. However, if your status changes in the coming months you’re allowed to see it as a good sign, I’m sure - We’re all allowed to hope 🙂

Hi, I applied for 820/801 on the 24th of June 2016, granted on 10th of July 2017. Got the email to process 801 on the 2nd of July 2018.

What is my eligibility date? I keep getting confused as to what date the processing time starts to apply from.

Eligibility date is 2 years from when the initial 820/801 was first submitted and applied for.

So it will be 24th June 2018.

Thanks for replying, to clarify this means I'm to expect a decision 19-26 months from the 24th of June 2018 correct? So 24th of January 2020 onwards? That's a really long time! 😱

Grants from eligibility date can often take quite a while. Its unlikely it will take the full 19-26 months, but in some cases it can draw on for that long.

In very recent times, I have seen a few 801s being granted only 7-9 months from eligibility date. But the reality is it may be more like 12 months+. Every case is different and processing times fluctuate all the time due to a number of reasons.

We just clicked over 18 months, hope it comes soon.

If the system worked a little better there would be more information available, as I have said before - "you are number 43,954 in the queue" can't be too hard to implement.

Any advice?
Hey,

I am having exactly the same issue! I submitted the application, started attaching documents, but there is no option to select a category. I started uploading everything under "Other" category.

I logged out and logged in again many times, but I still can't select a category.
Does it work for you now?
