Hi All,

I’m new to this Forum but have been monitoring everyone’s stories and time lines with regards to processing of 820/801 applications. Below is my timeline:

820/801 - Applied 16 December 2014
820 - Grated 26 April 2016
801 - Eligibility 16 December 2016
801 - Application submitted and received by
Department on 15 March 2017 via
Postage to Melbourne
801 - Still waiting with no correspondence
since initial letter confirming receipt of
application for 801.

My question is what do I do? Do I continue waiting or have I passed the processing timeframe? Does anyone have a direct link for an enquiry form to submit to the department?

Look forward to info and your input on same.

We share the similar timeline.
I applied for 820/801 on 24th Dec 2014 online
Granted 820 on 7 Sep 2016
Eligibility date Dec 2016
Submitted 801 Feb 3rd 2017
Still waiting for decision...
The current processing time frame is 19 months to 26 months
I submitted an enquiry on 18th Dec 2018 and received an automatic response stating that they'll respond to my enquiry after the 1st of January.

I would probably start in this order:

1. Partner (Permanent) Processing Centres Enquiry Form
2. Compliments, complaints and suggestions
3. Immigration - Commonwealth Ombudsman

Keep in mind that Step 3 will not work unless you've already made attempts to contact immigration and waited for a reply. So best to start with 1 and 2

So basically I submitted both applications via Post as that time when submitting an application it could be done online and via post. I wasn’t too familiar with the online account so just posted the applications.

Guess I may have to follow your steps and see if I receive any response from immigration.

Hello everyone, i will go on tourist visa 600, and get married. i have 3 questions if any one had already experience for this:
1. People say that i have to buy a home ticket for this visa. Can i buy them seperatly. I mean different airlines for go and return? Or they have to be the same company and the same code?
2. I bought already 40kg for suitcase. Is there any problem if i carry with me so much clothes like this? (about 2 big suitcases and 1 small bag with me on cabin)
3.I know that it is very trictly to carry leather stuffs to Australia. But leather shoes, belt, bags, ect..ect.. also electric things like traveling Iron are a problem?

Please give me advise if you have done this or see some one done this. Thanks and good luck to all of you!!

One thing to be aware of is that arriving on a visitor visa, with the intention of staying permanently, can cause a refusal of entry.

We actually did that, but made sure that immigration knew of our plans when we applied for the 600 visa. We did however, already have a partner visa application in progress at the time of application.

Not very nice to copy and paste other responses as your own!

I’ve been following up this forum since long, but just the first time put the question up here, as my case is applied through agent (801 submitted May 2017), just wonder if i can also send an enquiry? I have asked the agent but always got the same answer that need to wait, it’s been 20 months now so would not really be able to be patient

the department of immigration is a joke. All around me i hear stories of easy permanent migration by not just people, but all their family members too, while some of us get kicked in the guts.

I applied for 801 May 2017. i Guess by the time my 26 months is up will be July this year and by then they will say 38-100 months processing time. It keeps going up every few months. What a joke this country is.
