People should be emailing their feedback to the email address and contacting MP's. The petition is not something that the government will take into account.

I have said in my feedback that they should count the grant of the 820 as the start of the PR.

Yeah I know its a huge change

Your Views on Australian Citizenship Reforms:

You may provide your views to Government via email to the citizenship submissions mailbox at [email protected]
You have until 1 June 2017 to provide your views.

You could also email the Immigration Minister at [email protected]

Even the petition organiser said to ensure that people email. http://www.australiaforum.com/visas-...pplicants.html

The import thing is to keep submissions sensible, so they might be considered, instead of rejected out if hand.

It is better to email: citizens[email protected]

I removed myself from the petition as they can use your name on any papers/submissions that they provide to the government and I did not want my name used for something that I may/may not agree with.

I think it was about a week later the case was finalised. I probably wouldn't lodge it if you were going to overseas within a couple of days mainly because if DIBP need to speak with you by phone they won't be able to get in contact with you.

It would be better to wait until you got back, or maybe it might be finalised while you are away.

Well, looks like I'm now in the 801 waiting group. Will still be a while before we apply for the 801, but feels good to move to this group. From reading through, most 801s are taking 12+ months? Is that even with DIBP trying to clear as many decision ready apps as they can? Or is that just for 820/309 visas? I'd think they'd be able to really fly through the 801s if everything is presented up front.

Congrats to those who have gotten their grants!
