thanks for the help
It's alright. Hope we can help you to proceed with your application.

I guess you provided some wrong information in the previous pages or you selected a wrong application form. That may be the reason the confirmation page throws an error. If not, then you have to get help from immigration office as it may be a system issue from their side and not you.

Before we proceed, first we have to find out where the problem is.
Please answer the following questions:
  • When did you apply for 820? (for example January 2016)
  • Have you granted 820 yet? (Yes / No)
  • Do you have your application ID? (Yes / No)
  • Did you apply by yourself or an agent/someone else did it for you? (Myself / Agent / Someone else)
  • If you did it yourself, did you do 820 through immiaccount or by post? (immiaccount / post)
  • When you log in, in the page "List of applications" do you see "Family - Stage 1" listed? (That is your 820 application) (Yes it is listed / No, it is not listed)
If yes, can you see the status of your 820 visa application?
    • Family - Stage 1 Finalized
    • Family - Stage 1 Received
    • Family - Stage 1 ???? (mention what is written there)

Yeah I checked the date and ill start trying to get my documents ready to submit for a month early -

as im from the UK (A low risk country) does this often mean the process will be faster than higher risk countries?

Also, when I applied for my 820, right before it was granted i got an email requesting for additional information from my Case Officer (s56 form i believe it was called), and it said it was from the immigration dept in Kuala Lumpur. This worried me immensely as id uploaded everything and the kitchen sink for the 820 application, i was worried that as the CO was based in a foreign country, it might not be handled the same way as it would be a 'westerner'... I emailed them promptly asking what they needed as I felt I had uploaded everything, and i never got a response back, but was granted my 820 visa within a few days after this.
My question here is, are COs Australian based for the 801? Im sure i read somewhere that all COs for PR applications are Australian based but cant remember.
I don't think low/high risk country factor should affect that much. I am from high risk country and my 820 was grant in less than 7 months. Moreover, it was processed from Cairo and there was no issue. I think they should have the same standard and professional judgement regardless of whether or not they are "Westerner".

As soon as you reach the eligibility date, you're in queue to be assessed whether you've uploaded anything or not. I certainly would not want them to get to me and see that I've uploaded nothing.

U.S. is a low risk country and 7 months would be out of the ordinary fast with processing times in the last two years.

Skybluebrewer. Thanks again. Ok so im I correct on thinking that I can apply for my 801 on feb 21st but still return to Australia on my 820 as long as my 801 hasnt been decided? Which is normally 19 months plus? Cheers

Basically, no idea really how long to expect as it is so across the board here.
So some people would submit their application and then as soon as the eligibility date arrived, they submitted an enquiry form? Or are we talking people who waited a couple months, or even over a year and more?

Have a lot of people in this thread used the enquiry form, it sounds like a great way to skip the queue, from what your'e saying, with them getting it within a few weeks or so...

The current 801 Processing times are actually:

75% of applications: under 19 months
15% of applications: between 19 and 26 months
10% of applications: over 26 months

From what I have seen on the 801 spreadsheet:

The last six grants shown on the 801 spreadsheet took:
  1. 22.8 months
  2. 8.7 months
  3. 7.3 months
  4. 8.1 months
  5. 16.0 months
  6. 8.5 months

That actually worked out at 83% under 19 months, and 17% over 19 months.
But 66% actually took under 9 months.

That is statistics for you.

We are actually at 8.7 months at the moment, and still waiting... with crossed fingers.
