You can use your 820 to enter and reenter Australia as long as it is active. The 801 can be granted while you're offshore and you'd just enter on that if that happened. But if they refuse the 801, you won't have that or an 820. Just make sure to submit all your documents with plenty of evidence that your relationship has continued since the 820 grant and you should be fine.

Have a lot of people in this thread used the enquiry form, it sounds like a great way to skip the queue, from what your'e saying, with them getting it within a few weeks or so...
I don't know how immigration works out processing for everyone. What I do know is that several people, including myself, who had all required documents in for Stage 2 have had success using that enquiry form and getting grants shortly after.

Is it guaranteed to work if you use it? No, but it's worth a shot in my opinion regardless of how long anyone has been waiting. What's the worst case scenario? They don't grant it straight away? You're no worse off as you're waiting just the same. Best case is they do grant it and you clear up another spot in queue.

And if it hadn't worked the first time I did it, I probably would have done it again every month or so.

Just applied for 801 :D

I just applied for my 801 visa not nearly as much evidence this time :/

I made a pdf with everything in it, i made a month by month breakdown, a summary, pictures together etc etc.

I also had;
joint tenancy agreement
2 stat decs from us outlining everything including plans for the future including our holiday next year and plans for a mortage
3 letters from friends like 888s without the proof of citizenship
2 888s from landlord
20ish photos
holiday receipts
texts and calls while at work screenshot
friends conversing with us referencing eachother
family convos mentioning eachother
form 80
police cert
marriage cert
proof of 820
3 years of joint bank statements
post in both our names

Were not really social though so we dont have too many photos with friends (we do have photos with family)

does this sound like enough? Im from the uk, should this be done before i need to get another police cert in 1 years time? I will study at university once this comes through so i am SOOO excited DD

I have uploaded an image of my application. Its so weird and confusing using their webpage, when i click application home its still telling me to get a medical from 2017! when i click attach documents it looks like this, it says permanent stage processing, so i assume everything is working as intended?

Hi everyone,

Thought I would give you an update. I just received my grant notification after waiting for 23 months. Just an email without any communication from the department.

As previously mentioned I used the enquiry form to contact the immigration department once a month since Sep 18. My last enquiry was 2 days ago where I mentioned that my application has been decision ready and I am unsure what might be causing the delay. I am not 100% sure this played a role but I got my grant just 15 minutes ago.

I cried as its been a 4 year journey all up and now I can finally move forward.

This group has been very supportive and informative and I thank everyone for their advice.

Good luck to those waiting, I hope you get that email soon.

I didnt apply for the Police check in the end. I was meant to do it later today.

As for the enquiry form, I mentioned when I had made my original application. When I became eligible. How I had made a decision ready application. Mentioned that i had contacted the department atleast once a month. I also mentioned how my wait timings kept increasing each time they updated the timings.

Good luck with your application.
