So many other documents.

We continued to upload evidence at least every 2-3 months. Since grant of 820.
Your documents looks good enough. That’s strange they still ask interview! How many years about your relationship?

I have never seen anyone got face to face interview for second stage 801. Hopefully your visa will be decided after interview
Do you live in Victoria or other state?

Thought I'd give an update here for those still waiting, as we received our 801 after a long wait. I'm Australian and my wife is from China. Yesterday I received a phone call from immigration, and they asked if I am still in a relationships/married with my wife, and if we are still living at the same address - to which I answered "yes" and I asked if she knew how many more months we would be waiting, to which Immi officer replied 'I'll be finalising your application today." Here are the relevant dates FWIW:

820 Temporary partner Visa application submitted on 30 Nov 2015
820 Temporary partner Visa approved 12 July 2017

801 Permanent partner visa application submitted on 03 Dec 2017
801 Permanent partner visa approved 24 Jan 2019

So took almost 14 months for 801 to be processed, which is shorter than the 20 months the various websites were suggesting recently.

Yes I updated the 801 periodically for 6 months with a few photographs and other minor details showing we were still in a relationship etc.

We got married one month before 820 application. We were in a relationship for 6 months before getting married.
