Can my wife stay with me untill there is a decision on subclass 820 or she has to go back ?Her tourist visa expires on October 2019 .

Thanks
Does her visa have "No further stay" condition?

If not you can apply 820/801 onshore.

15 months waiting .....
Last week sent enquire form
Monday 21th January upload new documents
Hi did you end up getting a reply for your enquire form? I don't know if enquiring would be much help since last couple of times we did we got passive aggressive answers telling us just to wait... I wonder waiting for 19+ months for 801 will make them looking into it?
How many months you are waiting for now

Hi Everyone,

I remember seeing a enquiry about Medicare/Centrlink payments regarding PPL , Family benefits etc. for those waiting the grant of the 801.

I recently got confirmation from Medicare & Centrelink that the 2 year wait period (residency) for the entitlements starts from the application date of the Stage 1 820/801 visa application as opposed to the grant. This comes under the exemption of the spouse of an Australian citizen/resident.

On the other hand for 309/100, the 2 year wait period begins from the day the applicant lands in Australia.

Not sure, if the person who posted their enquiry got the response but this might be handy for the future.

The website says the wait period for PR (Non Spouse route) is 4 years from the day of the grant.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Things that we didn't need but we still supplied is our NPC police check from Australia (both sponsor and applicant), it does not hurt to supply a fresh one even though according to their website they do not ask for it if you have when you submitted it with your 820 BUT there is a sentence that says that for immigration purposes the police check is valid for a year.

Good luck to everybody and I will keep you guys posted on any changes.

Cheers.
Hi just saw your post. I think the sponsor doesn't need to supply a NPC, only the applicant will need to, if there is no dependent included as part of the application.

Hi everyone, I have already submitted my second stage application a week ago but it's actually due to on 7 Feb. I just can't wait lol. I have attached most of my documents so far, joint account statement, photos, marriage certificate, a few flight tickets, police check, call&chat history, form888 etc. Only 15 documents. I feel it's a bit less than enough. But I cant find anything else to upload. Does anyone have the same problem? Sigh

Just curious what you mean when you say about the 2 years for Medicare. You actually are entitled to it as soon as you apply for the 820/801 and 309/100 (and are onshore with a valid visa).
