Please update your flag here .

Hi all, I have a quick question. As I read from Immi official website, I didn't see anywhere requiring a Stat dec for the applicant. So all we uploaded was just the Sponsor's Stat dec. Is this correct?

I have answered similar questions as the Sponsor Stat dec form in a separate word document. Is this enough?

Thank you for everyone on this forum who has provided information and asked questions, I’ve consulted this forum almost weekly from the lodgement of my first visa to approval!

I thought I’d provide a timeline for those still waiting..

British citizen
Initial lodgement: May 2016
Temp approval: Mar 2017
Permanent lodgement: Aug 2018
Perm approval: Mar 2019

As you can see I was one of the lucky ones with a quick turn around.

I was never contacted to say I had anyone looking at my application, all visa grants were out of the blue.

Applied onsure living in Sydney and moving to Tas before lodging my 801.

Good luck to everyone out there still waiting!!
Congratulations!

Your timeline is so similar to ours (our initial lodgement was June 2016). I hope I’m as lucky as you 🤞🏻

Where did your application get assessed? Which country?

Hi guys,

I am currently waiting a decision on the 801. I will soon be travelling back home for about 4 weeks and my partner will join me for two weeks. Do I need to notify Immi that I am leaving the country for 4 weeks? If so, how? I have never left for so long so I dont know what to do in this instance.

Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anyone can guide me as to where I can get a template for the commonwealth statutory form so that I can do fresh stat decs for stage 2 -801 please.

Also, did you just add onto the initial statement that was submitted or just answer the 4 categories and how the relationship has continued since you first met. Hope I am making sense.

Hi there,

Yes, that is correct, the only stat dec needed is the sponsor and the rest you just need to fill in the 4 categories in the actual application. The step by step guide does not mention anything about applicants stat dec.

Hi there.

I am in the same situation, I am going for 2.5 months with my partner around the world and it is not very clear what needs to be done, we will not even have an address while overseas since we will be country hopping!

Some people say that you need to update address if you are travelling more than 2 weeks but if this is the case i'll have to submit changes every two months......

As far as I know, Stat Dec for the applicant is not required for online application. But just like you, I still answered all the questions in a separate word document and got it witnessed by JP together with my partner's & uploaded.

I answered all the questions in a word document as we don't think the form is good enough.
The answers we put for 801 were different from the previous ones as a lot new has happened in our lives since the 820 grant.
I also mentioned how we first met but in a much briefer way ( in the previous SD, I detailed how we met)

An example of processing times for subclass 801 grants from this forum in 2019, so far.
  • emma2104 from UK. Took 8.6 months, with a grant in February 2019
  • MaddieY from Sweden. Took 8.6 months, with a grant in February 2019
  • JandE from Philippines. Took 9.4 months, with a grant in February 2019
  • jaus from India. Took 9.5 months, with a grant in January 2019
  • H.snaz from UK. Took 10 months, with a grant in March 2019
  • indomelbourne from Indonesia?. Took 10.3 months, with a grant in March 2019
  • Rafiki from Tanzania. Took 12.4 months, with a grant in February 2019
  • JasonT from China. Took 13.8 months, with a grant in January 2019
  • seldomcl from China. Took 18.2 months, with a grant in February 2019
  • shruti.rao.doughty from India. Took 22.7 months, with a grant in January 2019
  • WPothas86 from ??. Took 24.6 months, with a grant in January 2019
The median average of the above is 10.3 months.

Using the departments time-frames the processing time would be shown as: 14-23. (They currently quote 21-26 for the Global January 2019 finalisations.)

ie:
75% under 14 months
90% under 23 months

but, the grants above also show:
25% were under 9 months.
50% were under 11 months.
75% were under 14 months.
All times taken from eligibility date.

In 2018, for comparison, the first 25% were done in under 8.5 months, the 50% figure was 11.2 months and the under 75% being 19.4 months.

2019 seems slightly faster for the first 75%, but longer for those in the last 25%.

Hi Jane, thanks for this update, this has indeed made me feel slightly better about the stressful timeline that Immigration has provided.

My eligible date was mid Oct 2018, but all necessary documents were fully submitted last month. Hopefully this doesn't delay too much of my application. The police check I uploaded for 801 visa will soon expire in mid May 2019. Do you think I should apply for a new one straight away once expired? Or wait till immigration's request?

Thanks in advance.
