Also, how do you check if I'm from a high risk country or not?

I answered all the questions in a word document as we don't think the form is good enough.
The answers we put for 801 were different from the previous ones as a lot new has happened in our lives since the 820 grant.
I also mentioned how we first met but in a much briefer way ( in the previous SD, I detailed how we met)
Thank you for the link. We are still waiting for the 820 temp to be processed, but I just wanted to make a start on the stat dec and get all the paper work organised for when it is need.
I have noticed that the SD is only for the sponsor and not the applicant. Is there no need for the applicant to submit a SD?

  • MaddieY from Sweden. Took 8.6 months, with a grant in February 2019

  • WPothas86 from ??. Took 24.6 months, with a grant in January 2019
The median average of the above is 10.3 months.

Using the departments time-frames the processing time would be shown as: 14-23. (They currently quote 21-26 for the Global January 2019 finalisations.)

ie:
75% under 14 months
90% under 23 months

but, the grants above also show:
25% were under 9 months.
50% were under 11 months.
75% were under 14 months.
All times taken from eligibility date.

In 2018, for comparison, the first 25% were done in under 8.5 months, the 50% figure was 11.2 months and the under 75% being 19.4 months.

2019 seems slightly faster for the first 75%, but longer for those in the last 25%.

Not many people are updating the 801 grants spreadsheet for 2019, at:

Wow, that is interesting data. I didn't see any applicants from Pakistan, so I presume it would be similar to India. But my partner and I did an onshore application as he was on a student visa at the time when we applied for the 820/801, not sure if onshore and offshore applications differ a lot or not.

Where did your application get assessed? Which country?
I’m from the UK, applied onsure from Sydney 820 was assessed by QLD office
801 applied from Tas and think it was asses by the Tas office but it doesn’t actually clearly state which office on the approval so just a guess! Good luck, hopefully you’re a turns up soon!!

Hi guys, am I supposed to get an acknowledgement form or anything after submission of 801? I’ve uploaded all my attachments and everything but... nothing has happened? Is that it? Are they meant to send me something?

You may never hear anything from them, until the grant.

It's a pain waiting and never hearing a thing, but it seems normal for some of us.

All we see is the status change on the immi account, after clicking the button to say we have uploaded everything required.

Hi Jane, I have never noticed the button that says we have uploaded everything required, where can I find it? Or which step of the application that was included in? Thank you.

Thank you for your response!

I haven’t seen any status change I think - i click into it and it says “application status : further assessment” and then has nothing. It has my submission date as my 820 visa submission date but “view application” brings up my 801 application. On the homepage it also has today as my date submitted. I also can’t click the “i confirm I have provided information as requested” and I can still upload documents. Unsure if it’d actually been sent or whether I’ve submitted the right thing!!

Awesome that you’re keeping track. My timeline seems similar to a few people here and I’m from the UK so I really hope mine gets approved soon 🤞🏻

I’m also from the UK and applied on shore 😊. My 820 was assessed in Queensland (also lodged in Queensland). I really hope I’m not far behind you 😊
