Yes, I feel stressed and jealousy. My partner gets to calm me down so offen as I can’t control the feeling of waiting. It’s worse when someone even gets that grant after shorter wait. It’s not because I don’t want them to get...but again it’s just not a fair system.

I haven't personally looked into buying a house yet, as I'm not PR, but to my understanding it's pretty much impossible to get a mortgage without PR, is this correct?
When my husband was trying to get a car loan and i was on the bridging visa, the bank declined his application because they saw me as my husband's dependant and hence his income would be compromised. It was so frustrating as a fully grown adult with a job, you are called a dependent.

I assume it will be the same case when it comes to mortgage.

Yes, same thing. We couldn't get our car loan until I got my 820. As for a home loan, I'm the main earner, so I have to be on it. Hence, we are having to wait until I have PR so we don't pay excess stamp duty, can access the First Time Home Buyers and go through our own bank.

Also, as an educator, I can't advance to Senior Teacher or Level 3 Classroom Teacher until I have PR. It doesn't matter that I've been a teacher for 15 years. I'm stuck until this process is finished. I am being patient...just hoping it doesn't take another year or more for the PR to be completed.
