It very much seems that the squeaky wheel gets the oil with immigration.

Obviously this forum is a small sample size, but there seems to be more people get some action by sending an enquiry than not.

Whether that is just coincidental remains to be seen, maybe a masters degree project for someone

But the fact that it does seem to have an effect no matter what the waiting time suggests there are significant problems within the internal workflow visa queuing system.

Hello everyone.

i got my PR today <img src="http://www.australiaforum.com/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" class="inlineimg" />. My partner and I want to offer thanks to Kmahajan1987 for posting the above a few weeks back. I did the same headline ('26 months since lodgement of 801') on our enquiry form and within a few days, my partner got a homeaffairs call then within the hour a grant notification email.
We are so happy and relieved after waiting for so long( 26 months), it hasnt even sunk in yet. I am thankful to God for seeing us through this.

all the best to everyone. To the guys waiting 26+ months, continue following up with immi. Your day will come.

Hi guys,
My 801 is granted today at 11am.
I sent an inquiry on 8th May (Wednesday). I didn’t ask them to approve the application. I simply informed them that I will be away for a long trip with my partner and we will be uncontactable in some parts of our trip because our destinations are extremely remote. Didn’t expect to get a reply from them but got the grant letter 3 days later!

Here is my timeline;
Applied 820/801 2/08/2016
820 granted 26/03/2017
801 eligible 2/08/2018
801 applied 5/08/2018
801 granted 11/05/2019
So just a little over 9 months
Defacto/no kids/high risk country

Good question. Maybe at the top of the message bit?

I am not sure what I did, when we sent our message.

Hi guys, just wanted to update here that I have gotten my 801 today. About 45 weeks after explaining my situation to the department. The system is crazy and not making any sense. Be strong and hope for a quick process for all of you.
Applied for the 801 on Oct the 9th 2018
Received it today on 12th of May 2019. All up 7mths and 3 days

I didn't put any heading when I submitted as there was no heading filed.
When I received the automated email it said "RE: Partner (Permanent) Processing Centres Enquiry Form" so I guess it went out as generic email heading. The only thing I can see possible might be the headline in the text box (as in putting your headline as the first sentence).
I personally feel that they are being quite responsive to the enquiries though. As long as you keep it polite, to the point and you have uploaded all necessary documents on your immiaccount you should be fine.

A good result. You got the 820 quickly too, didn't you, in just 2 weeks? Did you come via the PMV route ?
